Djed left out of the squad so won't be eligible to play.

Last 2 times we faced Qarabag in 2015 in the Europa League group stage:

Interestingly, Qarabag still have the same manager, Gurban Gurbanov, who has been with them since 2008, the 2nd longest-serving manager still in charge with only Heidenheim's manager having been in charge longer!

COYS!

The history of where the club is from is quite interesting. Since we last played them, the area has returned to Azerbaijani control and the city may be rebuilt. Was a pile of old rubble in 2015 under Armenian control.

Vicario
Gray - Dragusin - Van de Ven - Udogie
Bergvall - Bentancur - Maddison
Johnson - Solanke - Moore
Romero suspended. No Forster please.

No injuries before Old Trafford and let's get a 3rd win on the bounce.

Football Chap Football Chap Small typo, mate, but it should be Thursday instead of Saturday

Hope we don’t need to go a goal down before we move the ball forward quickly and with urgency.

I suspect Ben will start. Probably see Son subbed in for Dom around 60mins for that reason too.

..........And Werner will likely start; not so much for injury concerns.

No Spence in the squad still seems like foolishness to me.

Qarabag moved to play in Baku (capital of Azerbaijan) in 1993, so whilst it has historic links to Aghadam, the city you describe, its been 30 years since it played there and plays now in same city as when we last played them in 2015 !

Spurs can nominate List B players (essentially u21 players who have played at Spurs for 2 years or more) as late as Wednesday to play on Thursday : so I'm expecting to see Moore, Lankshear and other youngsters included in the Spurs squad on UEA site closer to the match time

I think he will start Bissouma and Sarr instead of Bentancur and Maddison. Probably Werner for Johnson. Hopefully Moore does start this one.

With Spurs playing ManU next weekend, its a balancing act on which players are involved to ensure we also have a 'non tired' starting X1 to face ManIU ...... and one factor we (the fans) do not know is whether Bentancur will have a suspension and when it will start.

If Bentancur is not suspended for ManU I think he will start v ManU, and thus Sarr will either start v Qarabag rather than Bentancur or perhaps more likely come on to sub him, for example at HT.

I suspect the more experienced Werner may start, although I'd love to see Moore get some meaningful minutes as LW, and same for Lankshear (if judged match fit) with maybe 20/30 minutes as a sub for Solanke if we are ahead, to ensure Solanke is not tired v Man U (or indeed Ferencváros the following Thursday)

Maybe Kulusevski starting for or subbing Maddison etc

The HG issue and GKeeper2 issue will still remain.... Only we'll have another non HG to factor in too cos Yang arrives in Jan.

....and that's before considering anyone new we might sign.
Does Yang have any effect on Europe if he's not in the squad? If Forster keeps being shit and Spence is required, they they could be swapped out for the Euro squad right? I'm not really au fait with how this all works...

Correct.

But I guess with Yang, EL is likely a better environment than PL to get minutes.

I’m still angry about the stupidity of the Spence decision:
- would’ve pissed him off and whether we rate/don’t rate him as fans, a decision was made by Ange to keep him as part of the squad rather than bring in an alternative
- Udogie/Porro get less opportunity for rest
- Austin who, let’s be honest no one really knows how good/bad he is, but was given a 5 year contract in thr summer. The lack of faith it must show in him to put Forster ahead of him makes that contract decision look ludicrous.

I don't mind the Forster decision. You still have to manage relationships with players. He's technically our number two and you have to give players their due respect. He's been given the chance to prove his worth. Obviously fucked that up a few days ago, but the onus is on him to earn the spot. He fucks it up, he's out.

I hope that from now on Ange will save the major rotation for this competition and pick stronger teams in the Carabao Cup. We can afford a couple of bad results in this league phase much more than going out of the cup early.
