We were a bit crap at the start but once we got things together we were a proper team that season. The side that got top 4 at the end with a great run picks this team off comfortably.
I really don’t get the grief MADDs gets. He created the goal, created a lovely effort for himself and played some nice ball. Best thing though he is always looking to get on the ball unlike some.
Why not just take off Johnson, bring on Sarr, push son up top with Solanke and MADDs behind them two. Keep the FBs wide to provide width and crosses. Really is simple.

For sure I believe that team was worse than where this team is right now. We were utter dirge at the end of Conte, even with a fully fit squad. It was definitely equal with the worst part of the season for this team but despite having peak Kane and Son, that team would have sat deep and made no effort to beat this team because he'd beat talking them down all season and the belief had finally gone from the entire group. That defensive unit was being asked to defend for 90 minutes but all the will to defend had left the team by then.
This squad, as bad as things have been, currently has 3 FBs that are approaching their best form, Romero and VDV starting to look comfortable again, Bergvall arriving and growing with every game, Bentancur starting to hit form, and Johnson scoring every other week.
The question would have been out of form defense having to defend for 90 mins against an out of form attack that isn't clicking.
mate we were 4th after the draw and the draw was only because the dick head ref gave a bogus penalty in injury time.
Under Conte we were able to get results even playing like shit (yes even at that stage) and under Ange we can't even pick up results when we are 'good'.

We were in 4th but not in Top 4 form.
I just looked back and it actually wasn’t as bad as I remember:
First 10 games we got 23 points in 22/23
Last 10 games of Conte we got 19 points
We had also crashed out of all the cups to lower league teams, limped out the CL against a poor Milan team and lost badly to Leicester though.
Our form this season has been much worse than Conte’s last 10 even if watching Contes team was soul destroying and he was talking the team and club down every week.
I think the last ballsy away performance in Europe was probably Marseille under Conte , needed a draw in hostile atmosphere and won ( just ) . Our away record otherwise is shocking in Europe .
That late Hojbjerg goal is burned into my memory.
But yeah. Going back to the CL final we are not that great away in Europe. But we are like 18 games unbeaten at home. But only winning at home will only get you so far once you reach the knockouts.
If Sarr isn’t harshly given the penalty against him do we even get the Conte rant at any point? Yet another sliding doors moment at this godforsaken club.
FWIW if a conte team played an Ange team I think the conte team wins 9 out of 10 times
Was a joke of a penalty. From memory we had been inviting Southampton onto us for a good period though.
Conte was already long past having a good word to say about the team and the club by that point though. He made out we had no right to even think about beating Milan in the CL, then lost to Sheff UTD in the cup. Everytime we played a team with a bigger wage or transfer budget he was saying how we were a small club etc etc. I think that rant was coming one way or another.
Ali Gold said he was ready to blow after the Forest match but we ended up winning so he couldn't use that match to get his shit off
