He's a bit of a shipper like the ones who follow Son. Can't conceive of a world where their idol is not always perfect. He's a talented CB not world class and he has done some less than stellar things since he's been here the most igregious being that whole Brazil Covid debacle. I like the boy but he ain't no Saint.
Common theme here is innaccurate inferences about people's thoughts/intentions, based on very little.

Noone knows what's in Romero's mind, but it hasn't stopped many on here assuming the worst. I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt. Conte's words yesterday add to that.

Problem is all the Argentine players worship Messi. He is practically a demigod. And they're very passionate about playing for their country even without that factor. With it, you know exactly who they are always going to prioritise, even if it's for a couple of dead rubber games.

I understand and respect being passionate about playing for your country...... That's fine. It's the whole "this means more to us" bollocks from the Arge FA that can fuck off.

If all the major footballing nations pulled their players from their league clubs early, domestic football would have ground to a halt........

Why the fuck should they expect special dispensation?

It’s not bollocks, it does mean more to them.

No matter how shit they are we just never beat them.

Ahead of every game I get my hopes up that this time it will be different... but it never is.

Expecting more of the same tomorrow!

Agreed. I just don’t have any confidence tomorrow despite us being at home and Liverpool playing pretty poor this season, but when do Liverpool lose 3 league games in a row? Never. I just can’t see us winning tomorrow. Hopefully I’m wrong and we play a blinder, but realistically i just think Liverpool will turn up like they always do against us.

Partly bcos we let them like we do other teams.

Not always. Remember the game at Wembley. We crushed them.

About time we beat these but don't have the best feeling going into it. Players need to bloody show up from minute one; no more of this second half wake up bullshit

.........And you're able to quantify this claim in some way?
It’s a subjective view….. I went to Germany in 2006 and work with a few South Americans incl Argies. They don’t have the same apathy that many English do with the national team imo. The country seems more united and positive. They are fucked financially at the mo and will drive even more resilience and determination

If you refer to the arrogance of their FA, well I agree but national team means more to their players, fans and country as a whole

Just turn up against these victim mentality cunts from the 1st minute. They are no where near as bad as their recent results. They’ll knock it around us for fun if we let them.
