Intentionless possession is stupid anyway, you don't get points for it. Reams of studies have shown the liklihood of scoring decreases the longer you have the ball.

Be direct in attacking, yes play smart passes and advance the ball. But move forward and take a shot or play a cross when in sight of goal. Side to side and recycling to the back is a waste of time.

i think the studies would also show that the likelyhood of the opponent scoring decreases the longer you have the ball
