Match Tottenham Hotspur vs Shakhtar Donetsk, Sunday 6th August, 14:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So do you think Sarr starting today means he’s likely to start ahead of Lo Celso vs Brentford?

Most likely - yes.

Reason is that less than 48 hours after todays match we play Barcelona, and with that rapid turnround between matches, I can't see any of the starters today, all of whom played about 80 or 90 minutes, playing any part except maybe a cameo appearance.

That would suggest we start against Barcelona with a line up of maybe :

Vicario, or Forster (if fit) or Austin
Porro, Dier, Sanchez (sub Van de Ven 45 mins), Reguilon,
Bissouma, Skipp, Lo Celso,
Solomon, Richarlison, Perisic

Subs will need to be mainly today's starting line up plus a couple of the uninjured players who were not in today's squad, plus possibly new arrivals Phillips and Veliz.

This preseason hasn't given enough training to play twice a week, so other than Van de Ven, I cannot see many if any of Tuesday's team being fit enough to start against Brentford, which is less than 5 days after the Barcelona match,

So almost certainly todays starting X1 will start against Brentford, with very few if any changes.

I disagree with an imbecile, you on the other hand offered someone to meet for a fight, you complete and utter prick.

The more time passes the more I dislike Conte's approach, Such a percentages manager sucking all the joy out of the team. I'm ashamed to say I backed him for way too long.

A lot of fans will realise how shit Conte managed this team, it's going to click for a lot of people at some point, all that club signing nonsense, the rants, the petulance, the style of play...it will get to a point where you will see through it if they haven't done so already.

:gallashmm:

The first of many I presume

Are we??? VdV is not enough! He´s just a 22-year old boy coming from the Bundesliga.
I have a hard time seeing him playing every game and make our defense much better this year.

The lad is raw material, and one for the future.
We need another one, a more established CB
Another Levy Punt. Typical Daniel Levy signing. I don't doubt he has potential but not league winning yet.

Levy doesn't understand, that in order to win, you must aim to have at least 20 league winning players in your team. Closest we got was the Leicester winning season. Pure Luck, 90 percent of the team were 'Firing correctly'.

We always seem to have 11 or 12 potential league winners and 8 that shouldn't be in the EPL. That's why we are constant rebuild and why I don't expect much more from Ange.

Genuine weirdo.

Up to €50m? That’s a fucking expensive punt.
What CB exactly wouldn’t represent a ‘punt’?
Don’t say Tapsoba because he hasn’t played a minute in the EPL either.
So was Ndombele, Gill, and a few others. Buying an expensive youngster that is learning his trade is understandable but buying him when you have no experienced players to "Carry" him while he learns, is a punt. Levy buys in hope he can sell for more some day and by looking at the probability of the player becoming a sensation.

We Let Edwards go. We didn't buy Min-Jae Kim. We didn't try half as hard for a CB when Jose and Conté asked, instead they were given 'take it or leave it' Rodon and Lenglett, Doherty, Spence, Emerson (who I now rate), Gill ..... there's a long list.

Its the Levy way. The is no replacement for experience. Do you honestly believe VDV, Romero, Porro, Emerson, Davies, Udogie, Perisic, will work together like Walker, Gvardiol, Ake, Cancelo, Akanji, Stones and Dias?
