We really got away with it today.

I thought after we settled down from the first 10 minutes (albeit we should have been a couple of goals down by then curtesy of their excellent pressing and Romero’s pot passing) the rest of the first half was a decent tussle between two aggressive teams.

The tactical flaws of Ange’s system have been obvious for a long time (almost from the get go) but there is just no tactical system which allows for poor quality footballers or half decent ones doing really poor things. Bissouma breaks their press really well and plays us into the kind of attack our system often concedes when pressing, but Porro, under no pressure fucks the ball away, 4 seconds later, curtesy of a sloppy bit of defending by Spence, we concede.

Their eventual first second half, as is often the case after Ange’s substitution fuckery ended up being worse than the first. The plodding Bentancur left on instead of Bissouma who’s much more useful under pressure, then Bergval dropped into 6, while Sarr left on as the 8 made no sense - and played like that. Son/Johnson with Odobert right was a good sub - because it rightly got the fucking inept Johnson off the pitch - but didn’t really change much tactically as we now couldn’t go past anyone left instead of right.

As I started by saying, Angeball clearly fucking flawed, his in game management is fucking abysmal, and we almost certainly won’t be watching it next year, but this is a really really fucking meh squad, totally bereft of top 4 quality footballers. It’s a long way off being competitive. I don’t even think man for man it’s as good as Bournemouth’s.

The draw totally flattered us today.

Bournemouth have been a pretty good side this season but not a benchmark a club such as Tottenham should be measuring themselves against. We were lucky to get point, showed a bit of spirit to equalise. I think Bissouma's days at Tottenham must be getting close to being numbered, if Bentacur can recapture his initial form for us he's one to keep in this squad. We desperately need a player who can drive forward in the middle of the park. I do wish Ange would opt for a 3-5-2 formation with the wing backs providing width to a front two, we missed Kulu Thursday & today. Although he isn't particularly fast he carries the ball forward protecting it well.

You can’t actually coach talent out of someone. They have it or they don’t.

Coaching can make players better though. More importantly, it makes teams better.

I dissagree..... when Kulusevski came to Spurs he was a bundle of skill ... pace.... excitement and was almost the finish artical...... he now plays with no Pace .... very little skill.... and has gone backwards........... that can only be the way POSTANOCLUE coaches him to play....

Does that xG stat for us only include the pen?

Watching back the recap, the 1st goal conceded today and the 2nd that VAR struck off were directly due to our FBs basically playing as forwards with no DM in the midfield covering for them.

Our primary tactical failure is just so fucking basic, it's impossible to understand how someone who cannot see it was hired to manage the 8th/9th richest football club in the world.

I was going to reply to this Jimmy, but it’s ok.
You enjoy your dinner. Make sure you eat all your vegetables. They’re very good for you.

Should I watch this back then?

Any signs that they might be worth watching on Thursday? Any feint hint of fighting Spirit?
The only shot on goal from open play from us was a fluke cross that went in.

Anyway hes basically said it was the lack of atmosphere that was the issue and doubled down in the post match press conference by saying AZ fans really made the difference the other night. So yeh its our fault.
