First goal was a result of Porro being caught way upfield and us not having a player covering any space on the right side of the pitch anywhere. Completely wide open free run.

The goal that VAR marked off, Spence was in Bournemouth's penalty area while his winger was near the halfway line. Incredible sprint by him to just about get back.

The issue isn't about the FBs attacking, but as you say there's no compensation.

My biggest complaint with Ange's "system" has always been that it's not a system at all. He doesn't have the tactical sophistication to develop a system - it's just a set of ideals.

Where under Poch and Conte (and other pressing managers at other clubs) there were rules for what actions/opponent positions would trigger our pressing actions, under Ange it's just press-press-press until your legs fall off.

Likewise, where under other managers when we had the ball and certain positions advanced it would trigger others to cover. Under Poch, Walker and Rose were one of the most dangerous and effective attacking fullback pairings the league has seen - because when one attacked, the other stayed home usually, and Dier became one of the standouts of the league dropping in to cover behind them. Under Ange it's just attack-attack-attack.

It's just extremely naive, and he was sussed out by every manager in the league long ago. Caught a lot of people off guard initially because no one has really ever treated defending so incredibly casually in PL history. But once everyone realized all you have to do is wait for our shape to disintegrate and then play the ball into the acres of space we leave undefended 20 times a match, we turned into one of the worst teams in the league for 18+ months.

I don't agree there is "no system" or that it's just "press press press". But I do think naive is a very good description, a word I've used myself previously, I also agree about Ange maybe lacking tactical sophistication too.

Also, when the recruitment failed, so did Poch's system, likewise Conte.

I am absolutely prepared to accept that Ange maybe too naive or lacks tactical (or even coaching) sophistication for this level, regardless of the squad. But I am also adamant this squad is fucking meh at it's best. If we think the recruitment is what ultimately let Poch down, then it is fair to say that regardless of Ange's failings, it certainly hasn't done him any favours either. This team lacks PL quality all over the pitch.

Nailed it, absolutely nailed it.

If anyone differs from this, you’ve simply not been watching.

I can’t wait for this nightmare to end

Most of the players you say are meh have only really been seen under Ange. It's clear Ange isn't fit for the job. It's not clear the squad is as bad as he's made it look. Most of these players looked pretty damn good elsewhere, which is why they ended up at Spurs.

Why is Moore not ready? Bloody hate people writing off our own. How comes goons can play their youngsters and one is in line for England call up.

Writing a player off and saying he’s not ready are two very different things. Calm yourself. We’ve seen Moore get a run in the league this season and it’s clear he’s physically maybe a year away from being ready.

Another horror show, glad to say I missed the first 25 mins stuck in traffic, but my son said it was stomach churning.
Not going to rate players, as it's pointless rating anyone under this fool, he would make Messi look like Charlie Adam.

The ground was empty today, at best scraping a 45k-50k attendance
I'm ashamed to say that I blew it out as my wingman was ill, and I felt very deflated at the thought of not having a fun day out(i.e a massive p1ss-up) despite the football, killed my motivation. I know it's a poor attitude, but I also think that the prospect of spending a sunny afternoon somewhere other than at the Tottenham Entertainment Complex swung it for many fans.

Come on FFS.

We were at home to Bournemouth. You think that's an acceptable point??

Really?? Against fucking Bournemouth??

Give your head a wobble pal. 👍🏻
The same Bournemouth , that had they won today would be sitting 5th in the PL.
They've smashed Forest , Newcastle away 4-1, beaten the goons , City and others. They were on a 14/15 game unbeaten run until recently despite having ten players out.
They are a very good side.

Bournemouth ≠ Brighton

Maybe you're right and they are more than just a very well managed squad right now. But it's more likely that Iraola is the biggest ingredient to their current success. They scored 37, conceded 71, and avoided relegation by 5 points the season before he arrived.

Brighton have continually been progressing and growing under 3 successive managers. They've earned praise for that.
I agree with you that Iraola has been the difference this season but most of the players were in place for him so I give the club credit for that. They have managed the buy & sell portion of the business very well & still stayed competitive .
Iraola is going to be in demand come Summer.
