Tottenham vs Juventus (Friendly)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What's everyone doing now? I say still boycott out of principle. Otherwise groups/companies like this (+ football clubs) will think they can charge a high price again then just change it if no one buys.
My mate asked about it once they announced the price reduction but I still refused. Would be different if it was back at the Lane I guess (but then it wouldn't happen through a sports group anyway), can't be bothered with it at Wembley let alone through some dodgy sports media company or whatever.

It's a clusterfuck of their own making & im not going purely on the basis that they tried to pull people's pants down, misjudged it totally & are now squirming. It's probably the best opportunity to demonstrate fan power we will have. It's a big old ground that Wembley & if they want to fill it they shouldn't take the piss.
Anyone know whether the poor buggers who paid full whack are getting any type of refund?

BOYCOTT.

The appeal of going to pre-season friendlies is often playing somewhere a little unusual, seeing us play someone quirky, supporting a testimonial or charity cause or god forbid seeing some new signings first. This has absolutely none of that.

I will never criticize anyone supporting the team though.

I would go even if it was the most mindlessly boring game ever, just to support the team and represent the yids. But sometimes you need to make a stand/send a message.

I wouldn't criticise anyone going either though.

It's odd how they couldn't have worked out months ago, that if they made the entire stadium £15 or less for adults (depending on where in the stadium you wanted to sit) and then >£5 (or, fuck me, free for Kids under 10) they would've sold the place out in plenty of time, to not have to rely on see-through pricing strategies of reducing the tickets with 5 days to go...

Given that their mission statement is promoting and growing soccer worldwide, in failing to promote a football match at Wembley between two well supported clubs, the cunts should all just kill themselves.

#BOYCOTT

Anyone that did buy tickets - have you had any messages about refunding the difference since they lowered the prices? Surely they would have to wouldn't they?!

It's an American company. And if I'm not mistaken most tickets to sports games in America are high to begin with. My step sister lived in Canada for two years and hockey tickets there were up towards 200 Canadian dollars a piece in Montreal.

Can't be that far off considering Canada and the states share a lot of leagues.

Just threw some quick googling the average ticket price in the NFL ranges between 61 to 131 USD depending on the team. Business as usual for the yanks apparently with the Wembley price

Someone's buying up tickets, or maybe, just maybe they are using the lower tier only?

I'm pretty sure the top two tiers haven't completely sold out!

Problem is, if we were still playing at WHL, then a 'one-off' Wembley friendly might be more appealing...
But I can guarantee that the majority of fans 'debating' whether to go or not, are all thinking the same thing; we're gonna have to trek over to Wembley (and back) at least 20+ times next season....
So doing it for an over-priced friendly (regardless of the opposition) just doesn't hold the same appeal!

They shoulda made it a tenner for adults, a fiver/free for kids and packed the place out as a goodwill gestu... hang on, what am I thinking; GOODWILL GESTURE...??
:levylol:

Yes I think that's their main failure. If we never play at Wembley then a prestige friendly against Juve would have sold well. But not only did we go to Wembley five times (faaaaiive taaaaiimes) last season we'll be there at least 19 times next. Couple that with the majority of the regular support getting season tickets recently and you've got no chance of selling out.

Had we not played at Wembley in the last 5 seasons it would likely have sold out, even at current prices.

Champions League does not need likes of Leicester, says US sports executive

Your right. Relevant chairman Stillitano has been quoted as saying the CL does not need teams like Leicester and has held talk with five PL clubs about forming a breakaway league
We were not one of those 5. City, Utd, Woolwich, chavs and Liverpool.

This pricing and the probable lack of bodies may not do us any favours.
Yet I cannot see Liverpool fans suffering these prices either for a friendly
Then again they have more global commercial appeal.
This is why it's very important for us to be consistent in the league. We then can be considered one of the big 5 clubs. They'll have to make it 6. :)
I don't want a breakaway league but we need to be there involved in the negotiations when discussed and have influence.

I think there will be a breakaway league at some point. I think we'll be a part of it.

I'm suspecting that there will also be another breakaway league in the other direction. There's talks amongst the northern European FAs (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Scotland and a few others) to try and put together a northern European league as a response to it getting harder and harder for teams from the northern region to get into the champions league with every restructure. UEFA is not that keen but eventually I think they will have to give.

How many breakeaways could the CL handle before it folds?

I can almost envisage a day where every club has their OWN mini breakaway tournament... that way, everyone will win it EVERY year, and EVERYONE goes home with a medal!

...isnt THAT where we're heading??

But more realistically, I don't think we're too far off the possibility of a NIKE v ADIDAS v UA v PUMA tournament....
The NLD will soon be known as
"The Nike/Puma Cup"

You'll see... it's coming!!!!
