Match Tottenham Vs Leeds, Sat 2nd Jan 2021 - KO 12:30.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Statistically speaking the team with the most possession is more likely to win the game, so your original post was correct.

It’s not an exact science of course but for Grocer to say it’s irrelevant is wrong.

There really is such a black or white attitude with some fans when it comes to stats.
You can have very little of the ball but do infinitely more with it when you have it.
Teams may have the ball more than us at the moment, but this season, when did anyone truly have a lot of decent chances against us?
I personally think Leicester was our worst performance and they only scored due to a brainfart penalty and an own goal.

I'd rather watch us have 30% and win 3-0 than than have 70% and loss 3-0

The way that we play, who else can be relied upon?

Kane and Son are always primed for the counter, and so will always be the first line of attack when we are defending.

Aside from tha,t when you look back over the past seasons there has almost always been a pairing at the side winning the Premier League who net the most.

Stop whining and enjoy the ride.
I am happy with the result

It's just an observation/opinion, I assume we are still allowed to have those

Check the link below, it’s the current possession table for this season. If you can’t see the correlation between possession and points you must be blind.

I haven’t looked at all your links, I clicked the last one. The theme seemed to suggest that the results were outliers (even though the teams with the most possession had won the most points).

As an aside, I don’t put too much value in it. You said it was irrelevant though, which it clearly isn’t. 👍

I was very pleased with the way we kept looking for another goal in that second half instead of just parking the bus like against Woolwich. For sure we ceded some possession, but we still attacked and got in the final third.
Hope we're finding a better balance as can't stomach another Wolves performance any time soon.
Nice to feel happy after a league game - has been a while.
I knew the moment after the wolves game on the post match interview that we would try push more for goals. The criticism he received would have hurt him when the pundits were saying he sat back too much. He knows better than anyone that we did, despite whatever may have been said at half time in the wolves game.

One think I have noticed with mourinho is that he is very reactive to the previous game.
Went ultra defensive after the west ham debacle.
Looking more threatening after the wolves game.

Only reason he persisted with the low block in the other games were because of the opposition being closer rivals.

I really do think in the next few games we will see us push for more goals.

I watched part of the game, not enough to draw any conclusions. But it looked to me like we defended a little bit higher today than in the last few games. Midfield, Højbjerg and Winks caught a few passes and all of our attacks weren't hoofball from Alderwiereld or Dier.

Was it just temporary or was it a pattern?

I can only assume they were reading this forum as it sums up this match thread to perfection.

Embarrassing, truly. I bet I can guess a few of the culprits without even checking. I just find it odd those who post incessantly during a game anyway

I am not too fussed about stats. But I think we have some very good attackers. So when we play much weaker teams & don't seem to really attack & make use of these top players then it can feel like a missed opportunity. I think we are good enough to have attacked more in a few of the games where we dropped points.

Read through the comments up to the penalty - cringy, embarrassing, reactionary stuff from some of the usual suspects. It's as if they don't realise a game lasts 90mins; that you don't have to be winning and utterly dominant within 10mins; or that not every player has to be scintillating from minute one to win, and win well.

Honestly, I'd highly recommend reading some of the sheer impulsive idiocy as gives a fascinating and entertaining insight into some posters and how much credibility (or lack thereof) to give anything they write
