Sebastien Bassong played 61 minutes, in a left central defence position, before coming off injured with what seemed as a hamstring injury as Wolves were embarrassed 5-1 by West Brom.2 Appearances · 1 Subbed Off · 0 Goals · 0 Assists ·
Bassong off that is not good at all. Played better than what people are saying on this thread.
As soon as he went off we were struggling and it seemed to change the game.
I'd have said hamstring as well, but he seemed to be able to walk off without too much trouble? Didn't even seem to be limping.
Tight hamstring. Good job we've got two weeks without a game.
Looked like he went off as a precaution rather than anything too bad - fingers crossed anyway.
I thought he was rubbish and looked unfit. He got caught in possession a couple of times and seemed joined to the hip with Wardy.
I don't think it was Bassong that was rubbish. More like the total lack of options he had when in possession. Plus Blake was moaning at him for not hoofing it long in the first half. I felt sorry for Bassong, you can see he wanted to pass the ball forward but we were so weak in midfield he just had no-one to pass to.
Bassong was $$$$ing $$$$ today.
while he might have been "$$$$" it was only 1-1 when he went off...but he definitely wasn't at his best.
Bassong was holding the defence together he went off, commented at the time this was not good for the team. Berra came on and the rest is history, we had no cohesion or ability to stop them scoring. How anyone can say he was rubbish today, very strange thing to say when he was covering so much ground.
Must be shocking for Bassong to get the ball and realize there is no bugger to pass it too.
Mirko Ranieri was not even on the bench as Viareggio lost 2-0 to Foggia. The young Italian keeper has not played since a bad performance against Carpi on the 15th January 2011 which the fans were not happy about, calling him immature and wondering why the manager kept persevering with him for so long after a number of bad performances. A few days later Viareggio bought 36 year old goalkeeper Massimo Gazzoli and Ranieri dropped to the bench.18 Appearances · 1 Clean Sheet ·
Corluka does brilliantly to make just enough space to float the ball to the far post, and Kadlec rises to head home.
Really good transfer. Strong transfer!
Good ... very good passes and runs wings! A real asset to now!
We enjoy on a man with such quality for the rest of the second round! Hopefully longer.
Best man yesterday with Renato. Has shown that he has just the class to do well against Barca
Buy! Very very strong. It's no coincidence that all three goals came on the other side.
Josh Wright and Ryan Mason did well, even Ryan in the second half when we switched to 4-4-2 and he went out on the left. He is gaining his confidence now after his groin injury stopped him from coming to us straight away. People are starting to see the type of ability he has. I am looking for him to score as well because I think he is capable of breaking through and getting goals at Millwall.
Harry needs a goal but he has played his part. He is a very good footballer who can link the play well.
Carroll and Hendrick, two players who are usually composed in possession, seemed flustered and surprised by the closing down of Reading.
They did enjoy and applaud a sweetly-struck crossfield pass by Carroll.
Carroll, quiet for long periods, made way for James Bailey.
Tom Carroll really does look the part.
Why does Carroll get a place ahead of Bailey. He might be able to make the odd pretty pass but he is physically slight and has no presence.
How Tom Carroll is starting ahead of Bailey I'll never know as that boy offers nothing and gives the ball away a hell of a lot more!
Adam Smith conceded possession and left his side exposed on the right wing and vulnerable to another header.
Gary McSheffrey was also passing Adam Smith with ease at every opportunity.
That Nimley caused us problems all night and Mcsheffrey was having the better of Smith.
If the game is so streched why have we brought O'Brien on for Smith? (Tactical - not injured)
why doesnt townsend start
Because...he's not as... defensively minded as Pugh? Honestly God knows
Obviously i thought Redfearns tactics and subs were shocking, Townsend should have started / if not come on.
On-loan Rovers goalkeeper David Button, outstanding against the Tigers, saved well from Novan Dicko three minutes later.
to be blunt I cant see where Steve De Ridder, Dan Harding and Falque will fit into our plans now, except in a real injury crisis.
Falque should offer the sort of passing options at the top of the field... but I question whether they were the right signings to make at this time.
Sharp will come good and tadanari will get his chance, as will De Ridder again. Just leaves Falque out in the cold, says something about the squad right now!
Jonathan Obika's low cross was touched by Chairboys goalkeeper Nikki Bull only for Williams to tap into the empty net.
Obika's first touch was frustrating, but to be fair he was working on scraps and hoof-balls, unlucky not to score tonight at times, but provided good hold up play.
Megson also revealed that John Bostock and Ryan Lowe would have started last night’s game but were ruled out by illness and a calf injury respectively.
Not sure what to make of the bostock situation. Hopefully just not match fit yet. Really feel the boy has a lot to offer. Play him Meggo because the boy has talent. Seems to be sticking with Madine even though he is not firing time to show faith in Bostock because he clearly has the talent.
hope bostock is well enough to play saturday put him in the middle
