I don’t get why people think we need to choose which one to prioritize?
We are in 2 competitions, there’s no reason the players can’t stay fresh
There are airports at San Sebastián, Vitoria/Gasteiz and Santander, all pretty near though I don't know if you can get flights there from the UK. Also Asturias (near Gijón) which is not that much further away and used to get Easyjet fights.
We'd have to outperform Newcastle and 4 other clubs by 12 points in 13 matches to improve by 5 places, however, which won't happen.
Best we'll realistically do is 8th, but my money is on 9th.
This is true, but the point is in the weeks when there is an inevitable selection conflict the EL should be the priority.
Training should focus primarily on tactics for the EL matches, etc.

But Newcastle at present have got 41 points from 25 games, 1.64 points per game.
With a full team back we could move higher, undoubtedly require luck, but so will winning EL. And not winning EL and finishing in bottom half of table is not on my agenda. Hence not making a bet on winning EL only
I should add that all of these places will have good train and coach connections to Bilbao.

I was thinking about this and actually it could be the best of both worlds for Sonny.
He really doesn't look up to starting games in the PL with that intensity but he has looked great in the EL. Those weeks where we have 2 games in a week, there is an opportunity to rest Sonny for EL and at the same time slowly start bedding in Odobert as the starting LWF for the PL.
That is very generous... I think we will finish around 12th to 14th realistically.
BIARRITZ ( France / Euskal Herria ) : has a Ryanair connection to Stanstead and is 85 miles from Bilbao.

The most optimistic, high on drugs, drunk Spurs fan who's second name is Levy, would be hard pressed to see enough points here to catch Newcastle, Fulham or Brighton. All three of them are not dropping nine points in thirteen games, and nothing suggests that that is remotely likely.
My best bet is a 23 point haul from that lot giving us 53pts? That got the Pikey's to ninth last season, eighth place got 60pts, and fifth (us) 66pts

Well we'd have to get worse, which is of course possible but I think is unlikely.
Quite pleased we got alkmaar. Might go to away leg. Not sure mode of transport to use. Coach convoy from our ground then by ferry onwards to alkmaar by coach. Will be a grin. Not sure club arrange that anymore.
