Winning Europa would salvage something from an otherwise lost year. But its memory will always be linked to the fact that it was done against the run of an awful season during an awful era for the club. It's a crumb found by a blind mouse.
I wouldn't go that far with the mouse analogy but I do understand - agreed it'll salvage, in my opinion, a completely dire season but I want to win it & I think we can win it none the less.

Yeah, it's just blatant anti Spurs/United sentiment. Nothing more.

If it were Brentford finishing 16th and winning the Europa League the narrative would be, "what an achievement" / "this is great for English football" / "another English team in Europe is fantastic"

As for Richard Keys. How he's still on screens is beyond me. The guy is an absolute weapon.
I wouldn't go so far as to think what this prick thinks - he may have an agenda but I wouldn't go that far.

The issue is this Tournament has allowed via a UEFA ruling, last time I checked this moronic wombat only works for FIFA so he can shove his bullshit up his fukkin Arse *no pun intended* & focus on his job & maybe calling out the corruption on FIFA but he won't because he's got a cushty job there.

Problem is it's a poisoned chalice....Ange keeps his job...
Could - That's a possibility I'm aware of but no matter what I want him out (with many others at the club).

I don't want to discuss Ange's possible future as I don't want to steer this thread to that topic.

The bottom line is let's win this damn competition, have our parade & deal with that when the time comes.

See how excited West Ham were to win the conference and Newcastle were to win the carabo - winning any trophy is massive to win the Europa league would be fucking massive

I missed the West Ham game on Sunday. Did anyone put their name forward to start this Thursday?

Otherwise I'd run with the below team. Hopefully Son can make the bench! Richarlison can start ahead of Solanke if he's still not fully recovered. I'd probably give Sarr the nod here and use Kulusevski off the bench.

Vicario
Porro Romero VDV Udogie
Bissouma Bentancur Sarr
Johnson Solanke Tel

Sunday's game was an absolute stinker. Contest-wise, one of the worst games I've watched in many years. Danso had a decent game, Tel some good moments - otherwise tripe.

I'd be very surprised if Deki isn't in the team, probably for Sarr. Otherwise we'll have net zero creativity in the middle of the pitch. Toss-up between Tel and Richy for LW - I'd start the former for quicker attacking transitions.

Thats the type of game I was expecting and almost hoping for in between these 2 European semis. Partly why I made myself busy so that I'd miss the game. Didn't want to get my knickers in a twist over a nothing game.

I agree on us needing Kulusevski in their for creativity but with a 2 goal lead going away in Europe, I'd happily go Sarr instead and play pragmatic. Soak up some pressure and hit them on the counter. I'd love to see the Frankfurt away setup and performance again.

They are bang on to score at least one at home, pressing hard and attacking relentlessly. Home support is a big aspect there too.

We need to go to this game to win imo.
