Look back on past seasons and we've dropped tons of points against very much inferior opposition, particularly at the beginning of the season. So there is a right time to lose a game?
Nah. Of course not.
If anything, the best time to lose a game is early in the season, when the table is still taking shape and teams are all over the place on it.
All losses feel like they come at the wrong time.
Once again, I urge you to examine the narratives you give yourself. Doing that is key to overcoming what ails this club.
My point isn't that there's a "good time" - it's that we drop more points to mid table and lower clubs than our rivals, hence our inability to win the league in recent seasons. And losing points to Watford now seems like poor timing given the loss of momentum ahead of Liverpool and an always tricky fixture away to Brighton.
The reality is its these games that prevent our silverware quests much more than glamour times against goons, United, chavs, dippers. The Watfords of the world are what trip us up.
