I don't know why some are spinning this as a negative. If the Lewis's had no interest in changing things, why would we be doing such a thorough audit, and then subsequently changing the entire leadership team, if it was business as usual?
Ask yourself why they would bother? The club was making money hand over fist, they could have just kept Levy on board if they were happy. SO the reason they changed was because they wanted more success ON the pitch, not OFF it.
And if it was purely because the Lewis Family wanted Levy gone, they could have just replaced him with a lackey and replaced the board and not make a song and dance about it.
I understand why people are cynical or sceptical. But we need to give the new executive team time to see if this is actually going to be any different.
On the basis of the January window so far, I do think we are seeing signs of a different approach. Selling Johnson when we did, as Vinai says, selling players at the right time, is something we never would have done under Levy. If we did sell it would have been the end of January. Not the first week of January. But under Levy the likelihood is we wouldn't have sold Johnson at all.
Same with Gallagher. When did we ever do deals like that 2nd week of January.
So we need to give them until the end of the summer window to really judge. They haven't had enough time so far.
What I found interesting, there wasn't many words for Frank in Vinai's message. No words of support, or confidence, or anything like that. Just a clear indication that the team has fallen well short of expectations. SO I think Frank will be gone by the summer if things don't improve big time.
