I’m glad we won a trophy but knowing how weak the comp was it doesn’t really move me. The game was terrible, our oppo more terrible, and we won off a fluke goal.

It is what it is though- for me I’ve thought about it a lot and consider it payback for years of bullshit. Still I hope we fire Ange. We have to prepare for CL football now with regards to our summer transfers and squad building.

It wasn't a beautiful game, it wasn't played well by either side. The radio commentators saying it looked like a relegation 6 pointer were exactly right.

But we ground out a result. We haven't done that at all the last two years. And even when ManU made their subs and the game started tilting in their favor, we managed to hold on defensively.

Mickey's clearance is something that just does not happen for Spurs, conventional wisdom would say. But this time our defense refused to lose.

Winning a final without managing a shot on target is bonkers, a bit silly, but you have to do a lot of things right for that to happen as well. We kept the clean sheet that was required. Things went our way.

Every 10 or 12 matches when our players could be arsed the past two seasons we have turned up and beat City or otherwise played above our heads and got a result. The players found it in themselves on this occasion. They did the opposite of what everyone expected and would say was "Spursy", we didn't find a way to lose, we didn't shrink in the big moments at the end, we raised the level in this second half of a big game. That in itself is good.

Trophies don't end up where they are by accident. The players did enough, did what was required of them on that day.
 
Woke up early, birds are singing, sun is shining through the curtains. Head downstairs, kettle on, then let the dog out for her morning ritual, turn on computer and the first feed picture I see is ...... Massive smile and a little "fist in the air" moment.. yeh.
