This image here encapsulates very well why I think Ange deserves another season. Look how bloody monumental this achievement is for the club, the players, the fans and our history!

Say worst case scenario next season, we end up in mid table mediocrity, we don't win another trophy and Ange gets killed off in the end of the 3rd season...

The hypothetical question I want to ask you is simply this - if you were offered at the start of this season the opportunity for us to win the Europa League trophy, fair and square, but have to endure two seasons of mostly dogshite football (but thankfully no relegation...yet!), would you of accepted it?
:angesmile2:

....the point I'm trying to make is IMO we need to give him one more season purely just to honour this monumental achievement despite his awful PL form... Whether you love or hate Ange, we shouldn't lose perspective of how huge this achievement is for us and how thankful we need to be to him.

Call it deluded romanticism...and/or unbelievable luck what Ange achieved in the EL comp....but irrespective of what you think....this guy has achieved what no manager in 41 years has achieved with this club!!! Let.that.sink.in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we start to nose dive hard and become too close to comfort with the relegation battlers, then so be it, he should get the chop. But until then...stock up on your antidepressants of choice, buy some good health insurance and be ready to sail the rocky seven seas of #angeball for up to a whole season more!!!

These are my two guesses:

1) They were both won at home
2) The UEFA Cup struggled to achieve prestige in its formative years. It was perceived as a lesser competition for teams that weren't good enough to win the league or the FA Cup - not too different from the way that the Conference League is treated now.
In those days you got into the UEFA cup by ending 2-4 th in the league. How things change.

Say worst case scenario next season, we end up in mid table mediocrity,
Worst case scenario mid table? Are you serious?

Our PL form hasnt been mid table since last November.

26 matches
19pts

That is nailed on relegation form for 2/3rds of the season

5 wins
3 v relegated teams

5 wins
4 draws
17 losses

Get a new abacus mate

Worst case scenario is going down. That's what the form table since Novemeber says

Youre obv not a ST having to put up with that dross.

Well I've finally caught up on this thread. I've read every single post on here. Watched the game in a pub with my 19 & 17 year old Son's which will stay with me forever. Then took them & their 16 year old Sister up to the parade on friday, what an incredible day, absolutely amazing, unforgettable. Have Champions again & Johnson again on continual loop in my head (even when me and the missus are doing the, ah well you know what I'm implying, she's completly unaware of this btw) Big Ange was right , this Club does things to people. We've got a whole football free Summer to bask in the Glory of this amazing trophy. Me and the missus head off to Majorca in 10 days, gonna enjoy walking round the pool in my various Spurs tops, grinning from ear to ear with my chest puffed out. It's been emotional, this thread must be kept for historical purposes imo.

Sentimental drivel. Would you take a repeat of this season and a league cup? I know I don't want that. A man who wants to win every game he plays mate 'sacking off' half a season to win something. This season I'll give him as it's been 17 years with nothing. But that doesn't mean he gets next season. He's shown no signs he can turn around the league form. Wins against a decent Frankfurt, AZ, Bodo and the worst man utd team in 99% of our lifetimes doesn't change that.

You're putting all your eggs in on a league cup or fa cup. It's mental.

Fuck off and take your miserable shit to the Ange thread where all the misery merchants are festeting in negativity, this is the final thread where we WON, nothing else matters 😎

I had one of the best nights of my life Wednesday. I'm over the moon we are European champions. Unfortunately I couldn't make the parade Friday. I just want what's best for the club and keeping him isn't it imo. It's an open forum where I'm allowed to disagree with the sentimental reasons for keeping him.

Your one of my favourite poster. I can not believe how utterly wrong you are. This magic thinking is,going to do us real harm. This is the best time to move forward from the Ange experiment. He can leave with his head high, If we wait it will be ugly after ten games on the same ppg we have been taking. I still think we will let him go, and we should.

It’s crazy as this season was making me fall out of love with the club, it was miserable watching us but that night in Bilbao was such a buzz and I’m still
Dining out on the win and fully intend to keep it that way for as long as I can.
It can be depressing being a Spurs fan but I wouldn’t change it for the world!
