West Ham - League cup game

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That is utterly embarrassing.

The lknd of result that stops you from ever havong confidence we can win anything.

I coiuld not give a flying fcuk if we win on Saturday and we won't because losses like that reveal a fcuking mental weakness that lies there just waiting to rear its fcuking head.

Comlpletely beyond words.

Sorry no change at this place.
Alright, alright, we're all upset but there's no need to take it out on the Queen's English.

I don't think playing a very unconventional back 5 really helped. Davies out of position (for us), Rose's first start for nearly a year, Hoyth with only 90 mins for Spurs under his belt. Vorm looked rusty as fuck.

We where better in the first half but West Ham didnt really give us much to think about. 2nd half they where told to get bodies in the box and we couldn't deal with it.

That reminded me of Spurs of old. Complacent and took the second half far too lightly.

Really don't get fans who say that don't care about the result or progressing in the completion. In case you haven't checked, we've won jack shit for almost a decade and can hardly dismiss any potential trophy opportunities. And losing to them cunts even in a pre-season friendly fucking hurts.

Some bizarre subs from Poch too. Really don't get taking Llorente off.

It's not a hoodoo... It's us thinking a game lasts 45 minutes, not the full 90...4

Bollocks to it. We are put down worst enemy sometimes...
But when you think how ill-deserved ArseaNal and Man Citys wins were last night... makes you wonder why we even bothered turning up.

Tonight hurts. But Forget it. We've GOT TO bounce back on Saturday and prove tonight was a blip that WON'T SUDDENLY derail our season.. . As most of the media seem to now be hoping it does!

Fuck em all!
I hope this serves as a good lesson and Poch reads the riot act... having said that, I thought he should have started putting players on the pitch who wanted to be there sooner, we were coasting from about minute 35.

Vorm was quite frankly, shit.

The point of neglecting this shit cup has been stated recently - it's only seen as worthy if United or the like win it. Won it in 08 and it did fuck all, still lost players, still sacked a manager, still got laughed down about having won a trophy. That's generally how it goes regardless of who wins it, again, unless it's United's ilk.

Like it or not, it's now truly a tinpot that does nothing for the club, players, or managers. Only the supporters get anything out of it, and that's only until they tell a mate who will immediately take the loss out of them for bragging about it.

Fold the cup, take the PL teams out, whatever is needed - but it's truly just a calendar constipating blogger at this point.

It's the point that winning a cup competition with this group of players is needed. REGARDLESS of the cup. I think you underestimate the power of winning a trophy and what it can do to a talented group of players. No one in our team has won a trophy with us. 3/4s of the team haven't even won a trophy.

It's a catalyst for future success. The hunger to walk up them Wembley stairs more and more after feeling it for the first time. Will the League Cup keep our players? No. Will winning the league keep our players? No. But it will push us on to a different level, any trophy would.

Like people have said, it's not so much that we lost. It was the manner. Lethargic in our play in that second half, outfought by fucking West Ham. 2-0 up. Embarrassing.

If we were gonna fuck up in one of these current stretch of games I would have picked this one, although I'm not happy about it obviously.
Trying to look positively... perhaps it might help us by getting a kick up the ass which Pochettino will surely provide them now. Utd will have had one too, and going into that match complacent wouldn't be good.

Always same with us against West Ham, they kick us in the nuts, we kick them next time

Such a shame to lose that lead with our inherent defensive know how, maybe one too many changes at the back and goal to be sure of a win, if Kane and Hugo doesn't play you want Jan and Toby out there I would think

Moaning about people not caring about going out the Carabao Cup then says he won't care if we beat United away in the League come Saturday.

Righto.

I get the idea of treating the bigger competitions as far more important. But we haven't won a trophy in a decade and the only trophies we've won in nearly 30 years are the League Cup - twice. I am tired of hearing "it's only the League Cup" like it doesn't matter. It is silverware and in the second half we played with an unacceptable complacency given the players that were on the field. We have not won enough trophies that we can play with that sort of arrogance. Especially as this squad have won no trophies for us as yet. It frustrates me when I hear fans talking about winning the title and then I see this from the players. This is not a game where West Ham played out of their skin and thoroughly deserved it. They won it because we strolled around in second gear after half time and thought that was all it took to win the game. For that reason I am very unhappy with the players tonight, very disappointed by the result and don't agree that it doesn't matter. This is a game we don't have an excuse for losing.

Terrible ball watching for their equaliser though
Yea that second goal was bad.

The first happens, although Davies should have pushed out faster so that Ayew would have been off. The second goal was all Foyth not paying attention to either step up and cause Lanzini to be offside or respond faster to the threat. The third goal seemed bound to happen with all the corners we were conceding.

So yea, not great.

Pathetic mentality from the fans, as if we're too good for the league cup. Fucking disgraceful

I know. 3 more wins and we would be holding a cup.

But no, lets finish 3rd and see what that does.

I am so fcuking livid it is untrue.

I dared stupidly to think those flaky days were gone.

Back with a vengeance and we now have to prove ourselves again.

People just don't get it.

Psyfcukingchology.
