West Ham - League cup game

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Would the melters have risked losing Harry Kane to injury in this game if it meant winning the league cup?

Real question.
There is nothing "melty" about wanting to win a trophy. This is not the league. It's a knock out competition. You lose, that's it. Trophy gone for a year.

Besides, this team was good enough to win comfortably without Kane. We didn't need Kane to win it.

That's no reason not win them. Yes the league and cl are the big ones but we NEED to win a cup to get the ball rolling.
But it didn’t happen in 2008. We fell off the fucking cliff. 2 points in our first 8 games at the start of the following season. This cup is irrelevant - nobody credits you for winning it and in our experience it has nothing to do with kicking on. We’ve won it 4 times and not once has it resulted in a strong league challenge the following season.

Yes I do believe it could really affect us.
It is the way in which you lose in whatever competition tbat can sometimes do more damage that might at first seem apparent.

A club like ours wirh aspirations cannot lose games like that.

It should not happen because when it does it says small club.

How many games had we been unbeaten in up until tonight?

We were very nearly at the point of being taken seriously. Now gone.

Go to bed

You’re making a total cunt of yourself

The only good thing about that was making it home from Wembley in record time.

FFS Tottenham, you shouldn’t be losing a game after going two nil up, if we consider ourselves to have a bit about ourselves. The lineup at the end was beyond bizarre.

He’s got his own problems after getting humiliated at Huddersfield. I know it pains you, but there it is.

I hope like last weekend that you are right.

2 hurt teams although they are in a quarter-final of a cup they won last season and have the same points as us.

Redemption comes only if we fail to lose but I think we will need our best performance so far this seasom to achieve that.

Definitely going into the game hampered by tonight.

It happens, shit happens, just goes to show we are not perfect.....yet.

Would rather have won but considering the games we have been playing, if I had to choose a game to lose then this is the one I could stomach the most.

On to the next game.
