Glad there's at least one person older than me on here

First Spurs was at Palace 1972 New yrs Day, 1-1 Chivers direct free kick taken twice. The away end immediately held up their scarves making it look like a sea of stripes. Very cool I thought.

Season before I saw my first professional game, Palace v Spam 1-1. Greaves turning out for spam.

69-70 a mate and I walked down to Bromley's Hayes Lane "stadium" to see them play Sutton Utd. God knows why. I must have been 10. We tried to be enthusiastic as Bromley won 2-0 only to be told that we'd been supporting the wrong team lol.

It turned out to be the worst season in their history, immortalised in the book the Bromley Boys. Very good book, a season of football right at the very bottom.

You're all spring chickens! My first home game was 1958 - we beat Wolves 2-1. I was 7 years old. It was the perfect time to start supporting Spurs as it was just before the famous double team of 1960-61 and the European Cup matches of 1961-62. The atmosphere in the ground then was electric and far louder than today. Crowds of 60,000 plus for the big games, all standing (apart from a small number of seats) and packed in like sardines and everyone singing "Glory, glory, hallelujah" out loud. like all the other young lads then, I took an old wooden crate to stand on so that I could see and we a all had our Spurs rosettes and football rattles.
My dad took me. I was born and lived just up the road from the ground. My dad was born next door to the old Highbury stadium and he was a massive Woolwich fan from the 1930's , so we went to all the home games at Tottenham and Woolwich, but we supported both teams. By 1960, I had come to my senses and Spurs were my only team.
I remember going to every cup game, home and away, in the 1966-67 season when we won the FA cup for the third time in seven years. That was a fantastic team. Greaves, Gilzean and Jones up front with Mullery, Mackay and Venables behind them. Pat Jennings in goal, with Kinnear, England and "Nice one, Cyril" Knowles defending.
So many great memories over all the years. I still support them just as much but, living over 100 miles away now, I only get to the occasional match now.
Can't wait for the new season to start!

Spartak Moskow home 08/09, sat East upper, but barely even remember the game. Apparently we went 2-0 down before a 2-2 comeback 😂

I remember Shakhtar Donetsk that season.
Got west stand upper tickets. Very very central.

Behind us was this group of Ukrainian women who looked like supermodels.
Not one of them below 5ft 9. All stunning.

Figured they were the WAGS. West stand upper. Made sense.

Game ended they just left their seats, walked down the stairs in front of us and walked down the high road. Nothing to do with the players at all.

Next level totty is clearly just standard fare in Ukraine!!

3-2 Home win Vs Sheffield Wednesday.
19 October 1997 for my 10th birthday.
I only remember Ginola scoring, and that the atmosphere was incredible and also I fell in love for the first time with a women behind us.

That bloke you have on your avatar picture, I saw him live at a circus about 20 years ago. He got two audience members to stand each side of him and grab some neck skin each, then pull, so he looked like some kind of giant reptile. Crazy.
