Any goal against the Dippers is worth celebrating
Us becoming their cup final was definitely a modern construct..... Don't ever really remember any such thing in the 80s/90s.
LIving in Ireland and being 7 my older brothers supported dippers and man ure. I looked at the table and not wanting to be like them i didnt know who to support. They were top 2. 3rd was Scum. I automatically said no to them and checked 4th and it was spurs. Suffering since but wouldnt change a thing. I think even then i had an inbuilt hatred. My father was dippers so i have no idea where it came from i just knew they werent for me
Was the 1975 game at Anfield the FA cup one where we drew 0-0 and lost the replay 1-0 with a Heighway scoring?
We took a few coaches to that one and were attacked all the way back with Plod escorting us back to the parking area thinking it was funny!
We eventually got on and persuaded the drivers to set off and we were then bricked with a lot of windows broken and there was some women and children on them
We had to stop at a service station to get them replaced and to treat several people who were cut by flying glass.
They earned my undying hatred that day
Complete and utter Cunts to a man!

We were hissed at throughout the game and we were in the open end and got thoroughly soaked as it pissed down all game!
