Player Wilson Odobert

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I thought this came through on his highlight videos.

Often does a good dribble and shifts away from his man but doesn't fully get away and then the clip cuts off, presumably because he gets tackled.

He doesn't strike me as a winger than leaves defenders for dead over long distances but more the type that will drive into the box and be dangerous in tight spaces, win penalties etc.
His highlight videos, and I don’t want to cause hyperbole, because this is strictly a stylistic comparison - came off to me as being a bit of Michael Olise when he first got to Palace mixed with a bit of Raheem Sterling at Liverpool.

Great talents find themselves on teams that get relegated all the time, especially in this era of the prem.

Also I’m not sure if people are fully aware of Odobert’s pedigree. He’s a PSG youth product, went to Troyes on his own volition became he wanted to play. (Sounds like when Olise left Chelsea, then City and went to Reading).

Troyes are part of the City Group, and Odobert would likely be on the Savinho development pathway for them if Kompany hadn’t requested him at Burnley. City Group let Odobert go as a favour to Kompany.

However, Kompany getting poached by Bayern has left Odobert essentially unprotected and we’ve taken advantage.

The only downside of this is I think his skillset kind of overlaps with Moore’s, who is our best prospect. Unsure how we’ll handle their minutes. Maybe move Mikey central long term?
Different wingers and they can play together even swapping positions in the same game. This is not an either/or situation.

I can even imagine a Moore-Yang-Odobert trio dovetailing behind Lankshear one day.

how about a cheeky bit for Lamine Yamal
we offer skipp n lo celso
+ 1 day pass 4 the go kart
and 20% off for the first nfl game

Gray ,bergvail ,odobert all good young players but will hardy make a massive impact right now ,we needed up grades on players like ,Emerson ,skipp ,bissouma ,hoijberg , Johnson ,Werner I’ve seen no players right now that have signed that’s going to help the start 11 other then Solanke .we should have been strengthening the first 11 not spending big on the future .
It's a long-term project that Ange started, not a "win next season" one. For a long-term project these are exactly the types of players and age profile you want. Ones that may not be automatic starters now, but can be by the end of the season or the start of next season.

This is a great point. Both Munn and Ange came from City Football Group clubs too and there was talk Munn brought access to their scouting and analysis data models with him. There’s a decent chance both of them have known about Odobert for some time.

Just like with Kevin Bacon theory, there is a maximum of five levels of separation between every person in world football and the City Group

Best manager since the 80’s? WTAF are you banging on about? He blew it repeatedly with the most talented Spurs squad of my lifetime.
what are you - ten?

whether he failed to meet your lofty standards or win any silverware, or not - IMO he produced the best team and best footballing side at the club since the 80's

Back then, the game was a level playing field, and we won things.
since then stupendously rich people and massively cash rich owners have taken over clubs and made winning anything almost impossible outside of 3-4 teams with that spending power.

Our owners don't prioritise the money the club makes on investing in the team the way the fans want, they run it as a business for their shareholders.

Try thinking before you post
