Player Wilson Odobert

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah ok, but I don’t quite care about squad since we’ve had our usual first 11 fit since January onwards.

Palmer would definitely start over anyone in our 11. Gallagher? Not so sure. Who would you swap him for? Bissouma? Sarr? I don’t think he’s an improvement over our starting CMs (or Bentancur).

Colwill is what, a CB? Would you start him over VDV or Romero? Probably not, right?

What about Madueke? Would you start him over Kulu or Johnson? Imo it’s a 50/50, but I don’t think he’s a clear improvement on our players.

Don’t know why you include Neto since this was about last season’s teams.

You said "that Chelsea team". It wasn't clear to me you meant "last season's Chelsea team".

I acknowledged maybe not "first 11". But they have players that would intently improve our squad. We lacked depth last season and there's still a glaring lack of cover in certain roles. LCB is one.

Palmer starts without question. Colwill's ability is on a similar level to Micky. Micky is just lightning fast.

Madueke perhaps doesn't start but he's a player we've been reportedly linked with this summer and is a product of our academy. Depth. We've signed Odobert now so that would be the end of that.

Gallagher starts ahead of Sarr and Biss every day of the week. Goals. Assists. Pressing threat. Home grown. Ticks all the boxes Ange thinks we need.

No I don’t care about the squad argument because bar a couple of months, we’ve had our first 11 available for selection and the manager has pretty much picked the same eleven every game.

What?

Firstly, Richy wasn't fit at the start of the season and he was suffering a mental health crisis, Bentancur was still injured, Johnson wasn't signed until late so missed the first few matches. Then we had our injury crisis and suspensions in fact we didn't have a fully fit squad until Feb:

So how is that bar a couple of months? lmao

Secondly even if your bizarre statement was true do you think managers don't make subs or anything, do you think that the first 11 play all 90 mins of those matches? Hence why making the argument about squad makes total sense.

What nonsense. 🤣

Ange, wether you love him or not, hasn't scratched the surface or achieved anything like as much to be mentioned along side Poch.
That's daft John, Ange has been here one season.

Pochettino's first season was no great shakes, you could have said then that he hadn't scratched the surface of what Redknapp (or Jol) achieved.

It's like Groundhog Day - sack manager, appoint new guy, say we need to be patient, be anything but, sack manager and on and on.

What’s interesting watching the ‘Mission to Burnley’ documentary is how much emphasis they put on data led recruitment - which obviously flagged Odobert up to them last year.

Clearly those same markers flagged up all over our own recruitment dashboard this summer!

Fans love a tricky player that takes on his man, so hopefully he can become a fan favourite quite quickly . . .

Kompany was a potential coach target for us before Ange won the contest.

Both are City Football Group and comfortable working with players who fit a certain data model.

Odobert fitting with the data profile we use is not a surprise in anyway imo.

It’s also wild that we still have fans who think players coming back from long term injuries are fully fit.

If you don’t play football for 3 months or even 6 months in Bentancurs case, is there no small section of grey matter in people’s heads that wonder how long it takes to get back up to the level of aerobic fitness and match sharpness to play the most intense football league in the world?

This is a strange argument? The manager picked the same first 11 from the same Squad? We don’t have the same squad now? And the first 11 he had off the top of my head had 4 first team Injuries to recover from. Now we have most positions with quality depth. So how does and improved squad not make us a better team? And 1/5 of the season is quite a few games.

I don't know about 11 per se, but Palmer and Gallagher get in our first team, I'd take Colwill and Madueke. And they just signed Neto. That's five Chelsea players straight away.
So they would take 6 of ours by my math? They are also drowning in debt, have a million players and finished below us? This is why I come on here occasionally the. Sheer shite people talk, yes Levy out lol

They probably would. They are buying everyone else.

This is a forum where people discuss different things and have differing opinions.

If you don't think that chelsea have players worth taking, good for you.

Your username is quite apt.

It’s always the username come back lol. End of the day, I’d take our first 11 over theirs, but I’m a Spurs fan.
