Player Wilson Odobert

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Very harsh. Lennon’s big weakness was that he couldn’t strike the ball well, but he always had good awareness of where his teammates were and how to use them in combination play.

Lucas Moura fits the lack of footy IQ description more than Lennon does.
Think Ange would love to have Lennon in his team, Direct/took people on the outside and great work rate.

Early doors but looks like another excellent bit of scouting so far. Has the ability to move that fast with the ball, still have your head up to pick passes, have complete mastery of the ball, and go in either direction.

I know Neto is closer to the finished article and physical beast when he's fully fit but he's not a head up player like Odobert and I already saw more from Odobert in terms of picking a pass and playing 1-2's than I think I've ever seen from Neto. Obviously he's not on Neto's level yet and needs to learn that clipped cross from the byline off either foot but his ceiling is several levels above Neto.

Great point about Neto, to me he’s only got 1 gear. Odobert is like Olise, he can slow things down, assess and then speed up.

Neto is like a kitchen knife when Odobert could be like a surgical blade when it all starts to click for him. And also agree about the different speeds and ability to think whilst playing at any speed.

Neto looks to me like a player who takes a picture before they start dribbling, gets his head down, and expects defenders to react to what he does. Odobert runs with the ball and keeps his head up to process what is actually happening in front of him.

Legacy Number 887 for anyone that gives a fuck about that sort of thing.

Lennon was fearless and utterly committed. He'd run at anyone. Excellent for us for a number of years. Nothing but respect and love for the bloke. On Odobert solid start young lots of potential lots to learn but more to contribute than a few in the squad.
He is the best defensive wide midfielder I’ve seen at Spurs. Incredible work rate and desire to track back and cover the FB. Real team player

Poor technical ability though, couldn’t strike a ball!

I’ve been waiting for so fucking long for us to have a player that can dribble past someone

I love this guy
I really didn’t think he drove at his man enough, I was disappointed. Played well, versatile but kept a bit safe and recycled the ball back a lot (to be expected in first game and also up against their best player)
