World Cup Teams Starting XI

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Belgium is a fuckin' beast. their back 4 could look even more impressive name wise if Verts would play on the left and van Buyten/Vermaelen in cb with Kompany. they are a topnotch side, the reserves are awesome too: Mignolet, Mirallas, van Buyten, Dembele, Chadli, Benteke, Vermaelen. impressive side indeed
[formation=4231, Courtois, Alderweireld, Kompany, Vertonghen, Pocognoli, Witsel, Defour, De Bruyne, Fellaini, Hazard, Lukaku][/formation]
hope they are in good shape, cause if they are, they could go far
I'd pick Dembele over Fellaini in that role, but that's just me. No bias I swear..

i know, it's maybe not his natural position, but i've seen they played him in that role a few times recently (at least according to some match reports i've seen on various sites, cause in all honesty i didn't see any matches of Belgium's in the past 1-2 years, so i wouldn't know what player played which)

STRAYA
i'd like to see something like this

RYAN
franjic-spiranovic-wilkinson-zullo
Jedinak
Ibini-rogic-troisi-oar
Cahill

Obviously its not going to get very far, but i feel like playing some younger players may help us in the future. Troisi is a gun in my opinion, flare, pace, good shot on him. Back 4 are fairly inexperienced at this level, especially together so will need time. Cahill obvious choice up front. Jedinak has been great for palace his season so deserves his spot. Ibini has some nice pace in him and can play as a second striker if need be, obviously we would prefer to have kruse in a 4-3-3. Oar on the left as always. Franjic seems like best right back choice. Left back is difficult, went with the more attacking zullo over lowry.
Rogic and Ryan are class players

Only recognize four players from that XI. Cahill of course (if you mean Tim), Troisi, and Zullo and Oar because they play in the Eredivisie. You've had some 'good' teams in the past but this looks really underwhelming to be fair. Hope you surprise though (advance together with us :)), always had a soft spot for Australia.

Honestly, that team would be better with kruse, williams, could put wilkshere in but he's shit. It really does suck and we'll be lucky to leave brazil with -10GD

Kevin Strootman: Netherlands star to miss World Cup with knee injury
Netherlands midfielder Kevin Strootman will miss the World Cup after tearing a cruciate ligament in his left knee while playing for club side Roma.

Strootman, 24, was substituted after he was injured during the Italian team's defeat at Napoli.

"I can imagine how disappointed he must be," said Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal.

"For the national side it is a huge blow. Kevin made a huge contribution to our qualification, he never let us down and now his dreams have died."

The main advantage of Beneke is the fact that his technical ability is superior to Lukaku's.

Technical ability doesn't count for shit if he's immobile.

I've often though England would be no worse off sending a whole squad from one prem team ( including some youth), plus a few 'stars' e.g. Spurs or Southampton plus Hart, Gerrard, Rooney and Sturridge. And maybe just one random arrogant cunt to get everyone motivated e.g. Joey Barton.
