Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Jesus Christ, Tim Sherwood on Sky Sports.

"I am disappointed Spurs haven't gone out and bought a player who goes straight into the first team, I am not sure Xavi is that player"

"They already have Tel, now they are blocking his pathway"

Pardew says "It's a big step up coming from the Dutch league, like Antony"

Erm, Pardew, he's coming from Germany.

Sherwood says "Bentancur, Palinja, Bergvall, Sarr, they are all the same types of players. They need a passer, Xavi isn't that player"

Then they go on to big up Eze. Absolutely mindblowing, even Roman Kemp is sitting there literally in shock, you can tell he can't believe what he's hearing.

Hmmmm, I wonder why those two masterminds weren’t inundated with management offers?!

I have no doubt that there was mutual interest between Xavi and Chelsea that probably would have been his preference in a perfect world, but it is a very refreshing win for sanity that

1. Chelsea did not find themselves in a position to spend money they don't have on a player they don't need, and
2. Xavi was open to considering other possibilities, and saw the value in our objectively better opportunity for him

It more than makes up for the Eze situation. Not that I was too pissed off about that other than the way it went down.

Although I get the impression Chelsea had unofficially offered terms he liked which we partly met, which might explain the uncharacteristic lengthy contract we've given Xavi.

Xavi Simons is an incredibly important signing, who could prove to be just what we are missing. Simons is a very versatile and creative player, only 22y/o , and over time he just gets better and better. Really a fantastic signing.

Only you can walk through that door. Each day you wake with the chance, to shed your bondage and live in an awakened state. The kingdom of heavens resides within, the spark of the divine we all have in our hearts.
Think of yourself as a cup, stained with tea, stained with coffee, but once washed that cup is clean. You are the cup.

Hope this is helpful.

I am a stained teacup. I am a stained teacup.
