I thought Odobert was actually very good first half, and worked really well with Udogie. Certainly a lot better than Johnson or Tel have been. Muani can play on the left, but is another right footer who cuts inside on his stronger foot. With Udogie overlapping, that is not a massive problem. I think our strongest front 4 will end up being:

Solanke
Muani -- Simons -- Kudus​

For all players, we cannot expect them to play their best football on their very first appearance. They need a run of 3 or 4 games to find some form and consistency.
 
defo need him on and centrally when trying to play through a parked bus, dont give him johnson to work with tho, jesus christ!

that dive wont do him or us any favours tho..hopefully he cuts that out and doesnt get a rep cos thats only gonna bite us in the VAR era.
 
Early days and we already saw flashes of what he can do. I am not sure how we get him and Maddison into the same team, but it's a first world problem.
 
We have seen how much Wirtz has struggled in the Prem, and hes rated higher.

Give Xavi time and the 10 position, alongside a more functional attack in terms of Muani + Solanke and we could see a more efficient version of Xavi.

Xavi and Kudus are the most talented attackers we have so they 100% of the time play in their preferred position.

You can see he's got quality but there's only so much he can do when linking with Richy, Johnson, Odobert etc. We need better players around him.
 
He was out of his depth today, a lot of individual mistakes that aren't common for him. But he wasn't the only one. Seeing our first 10 minutes I already feared the worst, didn't looked like our best day.

Eze and MGW were PL proven and would be expected to hit the ground running which probably explains why they were our first choices, it's always a risk with young players from other leagues.

I had a debate with a guy who said he lived in Italy and said he was shite. I've watched him loads and his game will translate anywhere.
Simons has been streaky everywhere he's been.

I'd have liked Eze or MGW too, obviously, but people scoffed at having to pay big money for Paz, who is have over Simons any day of the week.

Fair, but he doesn't look very good at much. He loves running into people and going down. He's supposed to be an elite dribbler, but he's not been great at that either.

Absolutely should be playing at the 10 though. I'm sick of this 2 DM nonsense.
