You sign for Spurs, you get told winning sure is nice, but losing ain't the end of the world either, #wegoagain and all that.

You sign for Woolwich/Chelsea/Liverpool/City, you get told winning is everything, losing is unacceptable.
This FEELS simple enough if an example, and whilst has an element of probably about it, yesterday was a unique case...

Here we were bringing on a player that CHELSEA had sought to buy/snatch under our noses, yet WE convinced him Spurs was the team to come....
That plays out 2 ways, depending on how you see it:
He comes on and rubs THEIR face in it, by showing them what they missed out on (like Eze SO OBVIOUSLY WILL to US in a few weeks)
OR you surrender meekly, put in a performance like THAT, and show them they probably dodged a bullet!!

However,HAD he signed for THEM instead, you just know he'd have been going home with the match ball, look like Prime Messi, and WE'D be lamenting our club for missing out on such a gem... again!

I'm willing to willing to wager that both Eze AND Morgan Gibbs White both have stormers against us in our upcoming games...
It's just the way the universe works...

Why does it FEEL LIKE WE sign the players who take longest to adapt....
I know that's not the case, as Wirst is proving at Liverpool...
But for ONCE we need to sign a player who can hit the ground running...
Or is THAT why they say only sign PL proven quality like MGW or Eze?🙃

Called his Spurs start atrocious the other day and some like our very own Richard Arlison (who's blocked me, it seems) got all offended and started crying.

Trying to find positives here. How likely is it that his poor form is down to him having having to serve the equivalent of static traffic cones up front?

If we had forwards with much better movement, would his workload become easier? In short would buying a decent striker or three bring the best out of him?

It's always easier to play with better players but Xavi's fundamentals have been extremely poor. He's physically weak, lacks acceleration and not quick enough to make decisions on the ball. I cringe whenever he has the ball near an opponent because there's a 90% chance he will lose it.

Those problems aren't going to be solved by playing with Harry Kane, he has to be humble and really work hard to improve his game. Right now he looks like another Dutch flop midfielder, and there have been plenty of them in the PL. He's currently our Donny Van De Beek.

First thing you need to be a successful high end footballer or indeed in any sport is balls, character and backbone. Precious few signs of those attributes so far.

Or our other notable Dutch imports who stormed the PL.
Dennis Bergwijn
Vinny Janssen.
As Del would say, "I-yax"

Dennis ?

Excuse Me What GIF by Bounce

Let's be real, he was third choice behind MGW and Eze and he is looking like it. Just typical THFC, never give the manager who he wants.

He also wanted Mbuemo but we gave him the Temu version in Kudus.

Doesnt matter who the manager is, past, present or future. They all get stitched up.
