Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Xavi was a major factor in that loss today.
Mickey passes to Xavi out of the goal area and Xavi has a whole empty space behind him, all he has to do is turn in his heels and take the ball up the field and start a positive attack on goal. But what does he do, he just punts it straight back to Mickey who is in a dangerous situation. Mickey loses it and they score.
Xavi seemed to not want the ball even though he had a clear space to move the ball away from the danger area and up the field, turning defence into attack.
xavi knows he cant handle the ball in all that space, thats why he wants to go back, he gets bullied physically. look at the bit later in the game where he drops a shoulder and beats a man, to be put on the ground half a second later, he doesnt have the power to leave players in this league, its too strong for him. looks like a boy out there.

Well you did. But reading the first 10 pages of this thread it’s a fucking wank fest like you’ve never seen.

I get it people are excited with a new signing but for some weird reason people on this board lose their minds completely.
We’d do well to remember that lightweight attacking players from Germany probably won’t hit the ground running for next time.

I feel sad about it. Fitting that in the last convo I had with him he told me that Simon’s is as talented as Palmer though.

Football’s answer to Steph Curry apparently. He came out with some amazing stuff.
He’ll be back, I think he’s had a break before. That level of optimistic delusion needs to be rested and renewed.

Or you just go full on David Icke mode. That’s not pretty.

FWIW, I think Xavi is going to be fantastic for us in the future.

He needs time, and you have to remember that the club is a mess, and it's going to be a lil while for him settle in, with all the chaos going on around him.

Silly to write the player off. Yeah, you can point he's not setting the world alight, but its not like he's been here for years and showed nothing, unlike so many of the others.

Give the kid a break.

Just page after page of shitting on a youngster, with no context of what is going on around him at the club.

Chelsea kicked shit out of him yesterday.

They left something on him with every challenge.

I don't expect them to make it easy for any of our players but on one occasion you could hear the clatter of Simons being kicked, from the North Stand, but the referee, who was yards away, chose not to intervene.

At other grounds, including the old WHL, the crowd would have been incensed by this and the referees would have come under increasing pressure to do something.

Spurs players get nothing from referees at the Levydome and it is one of many factors in why our home form is so shite.

The ref was shocking yesterday.

Even had some twat yesterday try and blame Xavi for the goal...

He played a pass that all VdV had to do was launch it, but nah, that was too simple, he tried to fecking play tekkers with it.

And the shit show of what Djed did before that.

But nah, it was Xavi's fault for playing a ball that VdV had to launch.

Shit fans, rewriting history to shit on a youngster.

No wonder why we are not allowed to havevshiney things.

It was a fucking hospital ball.

Poor "kid" .. a 22-year old "kid"

He is a kid, give him time, so what if we keep losing? give him time. he is a kid. I know 22 but still a kid. I know he makes in a week about the sum of what everybody on this board makes in a month, but still... A kid.

I know there are 22 year-olds with family and kids, but not like Xavi, he just moved to England, it is new surroundings. Give him time.

Next time, if he starts, cheer him up every time he touches the ball, if he doesn't start, all cheer "We want Xavi".

poor kid.
