Player Yves Bissouma

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sure but the video was about him supporting his teammates. Why would that be the motivation for the post you replied with, bringing up everything negative about him, even allegations that were unfounded and dropped?
It's the place to discuss the guy and I was replying to the last post. I struggle with Bissouma a bit as he seems popular with his team mates but has discipline issues on the pitch, and off it too with speeding bans and the laughing gas debacle, which suggest, to me, a pattern of behaviour. Hence 'enigma' (i.e., complex, hard to understand).

Bit of an enigma this guy.

Discipline and professionalism are issues. On the pitch - a couple of really dumb red cards that might have cost us at key times. Off it - laughing gas , various speeding bans, and assault allegations, which, it must be said, he's been cleared of.

To be clear:

"Assault allegations": He wasn't even accused of being the perpetrator.... And like you say cleared of any wrong-doing so shouldn't have it wielded against him.

Problem with these highlight reels is it leaves out the moments where he switched off and passed straight to an opposition midfielder, or overplayed it and lost possession.

Biss was good today; we all know is capable of world class press resistance and on his day is one of the best #6's in the world. Problem is and always has been his brain-farts, of which he's good for a few each game. Also his defensive positioning can leave a lot to be desired. Against tougher opposition these things get punished.

Until he irons out these issues he'll remain second fiddle to Bentancur, and rightly so.

Yesterday Bissouma was class above and few steps ahead any player from opposition team. Way too strong, way too to fast for them. At some point on, it seemed he just started to have fun. I mean this move when he knocked the ball around their player and laid down what surely would have been an assist if Solanke would have already been subbed in...

Yea, he made few (but really that - few) loose passes, but those happen to everyone, incl Bentnancur. And at least in one case I felt that Moore was moving on faster than he should have based on how we tend to pass it out from the back.

Ofc the opposition level was lower too, but still. Bissouma had massive role in that game. Stopped countless attacks, won back the ball and kept it well. Against Brighton Bentancur will start and I don't mind at all. Just enjoyed Bissouma performance too!

As long as one of Bentancur/Biss are in decent form at any given point then we're in a good spot.

Right now they're both fit and firing but Bent's first XI spot is his to lose right now. He's cooking up something tasty with Madders/Kulu.

Headless chicken. Good second half but awful first. Can't be trusted to be the sole DM, needs Sarr to babysit him. Our second half line up needs to be how we start for the foreseeable, none of this 'Biss & two #10s' crap, leaves us way too open. Maddison benched until he can prove he deserves minutes.
