We've signed players in January before and still fallen short. Buying players, especially rushing into buying players, doesn't necessarily guarantee that we won't fall short.

Plus, those around us haven't strengthened so I guess by logic, they'll probably fall short of their ambitions too.

I think we've got a pretty deep squad now. with the exception of Wnayama, none of our summer signing s have played much. Is anyone we can buy in January going to improve us or get a game? Sissoko, GKN and Janssen should not really be fatigued.

Do you honestly think if we had signed anyone last Jan it would have made a difference where we finished?
i don't think it would have changed a thing, being as we were very lucky with injuries, besides if the rumours are true Lamela is back in training, when he is fit he will be like a new signing!

I agree. A couple of extra players might have helped with the Europa League (though it'd have taken something impressive to beat Dortmund), but not the league.

Beating West Ham away would have been far more important, as would Alli and Dembele not getting bans in the last four games.

Who, Nelson and Saha ? The only time we paid out serious wedge was the relegation scare of 08/09

Not sure scouts scout for temporary players and even if they did they're not miracle workers where is there a player available on loan that could improve us or any other top side ?

We havent had a squad this good since the early 80s though.

We have 50M in Sissoko and Janssen who need to come good. You dont just buy and buy and buy because the last signings have'nt ripped the shit out of it after 4 months at the club.

You want a striker that guarantees us goals. We thought we had that when we signed Janssen.

But lets do another last minute dot com, and spunk some money on......say......err........who will definitely score goals? As in not taking a chance on a Berahino type.

Anyone from abroad who isnt 70M, is no guarantee to hit the ground running, so maybe we should go with PL proven.

Lets just go and buy Rashford and De Bruyne shall we. Its just that simple.....or have we decided that Jay Rod who has played about 4 games in two years, and scored as many goals is our sure fire shot to the title?

There was someone on sky sports wondering why no PL teams want a punt on Scott Hogan for the £9m + addons they'd accept.

And if he doesnt score shit loads by May, then its back to square one.

What do we do then? Stick with him and give him time? That doesnt seem to be an option for Vinny, so why for anyone else? We are happy to build, so then lets build.

Our expectations have sky rocketed. People talking about finishing 13th at the beginning of December demanding signings so we can win the league.
