That one drove me nuts. What kind of cunt takes arguably the best fullback of his generation and tries to shoehorn him into a midfield that already has schweinsteiger, alonso, martinez, thiago and vidal in it?
They were so good to watch under Heynckes and then Pep came along and turned them into boring turd.
Thiago Alcantara. Despite being widely rated, still the most underrated player in the world. Genuine top 10 player for me. A wonderful, wonderful player.

That's a big call!
I haven't seen enough of him over the last season to comment but I'd always rated him. Pity about his injury troubles.

Douglas Costa rumours reemerging.

Yes please.
I haven't watched a single Bundesliga game this season (usually watched many) so can't comment on him. Has a great reputation however but like many, many Brazilians before him they can be very hit and miss, even same player in different seasons can vary greatly.
A little digging in the Bayern bloggers and er well............It's all a bit Paulinho.......

''you Brazilian nonce''. Jeez.

If we want an unpredictable game changer then he is what we need. He is inconsistent, but when he's on, he is dynamite.

Have you seen him play this year?

Why on earth would we want to buy an unpredictable, inconsistent player?
A few times and he was excellent. The inconsistent proclamation is based on that twitter account, who I suspect has greater knowledge than I. I only saw him play well.

He's a game winner. Carlo Ancelotti isn't known for playing to players like him's strengths. Poch on the other hand would love him.

If Bayern want rid we could do much worse than him. He's super exciting.

I don't see him as any less one dimensional than Mane or Zaha.

Jesus Navas, goals scored in the league

2016/17 - 0 goals
15/16 - 0 goals
14/15 - 0 goals
13/14 - 4 goals

Wow, holy shit, that's just what we need. 4 goals in 4 years, incredible.

Kane scored the same goals in 1 game that Navas managed in 4 years. Let that sink in.

or else going large on an "Isco type" marque signing that pushes one of our first teamers, I don't care which one.
This is what I think needs to happen, before anyone jumps up and down and says we don't need to spend big like other do rah rah rah blah blah blah. No need for marquee or big $$$ signings.

Most here acknowledge we have a great XI right? Probably a great XIII to be fair. Most here agree we need to strengthen depth, hard to do, we have a lower wage bill than the rest in the top 6. That's a fact we cannot escape and can count against us.

So try and sign players to be depth to Eriksen, Alli, Son and we're likely to either fail to sign a player of the quality required (to be better backup than GKN, N'Jie, Onomah etc) to simply be not as good as our first options or we'll sign players content with a depth spot ala GKN, N'Jie, Onomah etc. but ultimately aren't good enough for what we need.

How do big clubs improve their depth, by signing players that make their first XI players depth themselves.
Probably some spots in our first team where it's not feasibly possible, like someone better than Kane. Probably Toby and Vertonghen as well. Can we sign a player that is better than Son or Lamela or Eriksen?? Probably can but will we. Probably not.

Costa was tremendous under Pep, and he was consistently excellent before that for that loaded, dynamic Shakhtar team before. He was very hit or miss this season under Ancelotti, but I'm writing that off as being incompatible with the system than a problem with the player.

I think the club needs to be a bit clear-eyed and honest with themselves. We do not do well when spending large amounts of cash, or trying to buy players from other Premier League clubs. Once spending gets above 20 million on player, or they're already in England, things get hit and miss. Wanyama was a big hit, Sissoko not. Son and Lamela were hits, but record signing Paulinho and Soldado were not. Janssen, we don't know (but I really hope). The reality is that a player already in the PL may know the style of play of the League, and may be comfortable in England, but may not actually be good for Spurs, since we don't play like a typical English team. Our big successes have all come from clubs that share our styles of play, not our location. Ajax; German teams which press a lot. They are where we find our best transfers, and I hope they're where we are looking again.

I know he's a bit of a prick and it's highly unlikely but would rahem Stirling be a decent buy. I don't think pep is convinced and I don't see him getting a game for them now. Cheeky 20mill offer

Apparently Harry Redknapp wants to sign Benoit Assou Ekotto, but he isn't sure if the deal will happen because BAE32 wants to become a pornstar.

Have we had a more likeable player who hated football?
