I can only assume he isn't 100% and there's no point taking him to sit on the bench and not play.
He's been out for 3 months and has played one game. Against a league two team.
I'd be very surprised if it's anything more than this.

The press running with it is the least concerning part for me, though. We've seen how the football journos in this country operate - they fucking love to undermine us whenever they smell blood. Would be best to ignore their spin for now (certainly until we get Poch's pre-match press conference for the Juve game tomorrow afternoon).Exclusive: Toby Alderweireld's Tottenham future in fresh doubt with Belgian to be left at home for Juventus match
Press running with it now, not looking good.
Definitely bollocks. See: twitter. Some cunts on twitter saying he's signed a pre-contract with Bayern.... How the fuck they think that works when he's signed up til 2019, I've got no idea!
The main concern I have is that I'd have imagined rotating Sanchez out after a taxing game against Woolwich would have made sense. Or being able to go with a back three of Toby-Sanchez-Vertonghen.I think, as others have said, it was more about respecting Sanchez and (to a lesser extent) Foyth.
The team is playing well, there’s no obvious reason to change the system to a back three again just yet, and Alderweireld probably isn’t 100% fit.

But you're right - with Jan being faultless it would have been a case of dropping Sanchez in one of the biggest games in his young career for a player who's been out for 4-or-so months.
We know that Poch runs a meritocracy. If he thinks Davinson is good to go for Tuesday (and is opting for a back four) then Toby wouldn't be playing anyway.

Not wound up mate, just interested. If we go by Poch’s previous, he’s gone. Alderweireld’s refusal to sign a new contract has most likely convinced Poch that his heart isn’t in playing for our team. Shame if true, but Vertonghen has been the superior CB this season.I find it odd that so many are getting wound up about it. We haven't missed him at all since he's been out, our record this season without him has been better then with him.
If he wants to go, then sod him, just ensure that the buyers cough up a silly amount of money for him. Don't care who the player is - if they are not committed to playing for us and giving their all, I'd rather they left.
Ffs he’s only just returning from injury. Most likely not ready to chuck into an extremely important CL tie. Poch rarely rushes players back. Chill y’all.Well, it was rather inevitable that we would lose at least one this season, and Toby always seemed like one of the likeliest to be next.
Maybe it's all bullshit, but then again, this all seems very much like a repeat of the Walker situation.
It is 6 days between Newport and Juventus and Toby completed 90 mins. Unless he had a reaction to the injury after the match, I cannot see he cannot play. I would be much happier with Toby there than Sanchez who is more likely to make an error against a very good team well versed in gaining an advantage. Last season he came back quickly and once back in the team played all the time.
I really cannot agree with Poch on this issue and do not think this action is likely to help Toby to sign a new contract.
It seems pretty clear he won’t sign a new contract. So what does Poch do with him?
I agree with this, but why have we wasted a CL squad place on him if him & Poch have locked horns? It’s got to have been a very recent development? It really does smell like Walker all over again. It seems pretty clear he won’t sign a new contract. So what does Poch do with him?
