Will the situation intensify by the time the tournament comes round with realisation that Italy won't be there or has the autopsy all ready been done and dusted? How will the media react to the tournament with Italy absent as in full reports and enthusiasm or just a fleeting interest?

The press and the people understood that Ventura was the worst so we are aware that Italy at the World Cup with Ventura would have led to humiliation.

The mistake was the change Conte - Ventura. Conte was eliminated in Europe 2016 in the Quarter from Germany (penalties) after having beaten Spain 2-0.

We understood the original sin but when the World Cup begins the disappointment will grow. Only "small" consolation: we could not have won this World Cup but it is like the fox and the grapes.

2006 ( teams & C.)is very different from 2011 ( only players)

Juventus paid a very high price for the 2006 scandal (it is said that the Agnelli family actually started operations to prevent Moggi-Giraudo from acquiring companies).
Juventus was dismembered, after WC 2006:
Cannavaro- Real Madrid
Zambrotta and Thuram - Barcelona
Ibrahimovic and Vieira - Inter

You’re free to have your idea but I don’t agree.
Players who fall by themselves as hit by a sniper you can see them in Serie A, Premier League, Liga, Bundesliga etc.

I don’t like it either.
On the other hand, if you refer to Calciopoli, unfortunately it was not a "cleansing operation" but a "change of power group operation".
