A ha the old debate “too old to wear a football shirt” you’ve possibly hit the nail on the head! Nike’s chief designer will be a young dude with his finger on the pulse,or he thinks he has! His remit what’s in vogue,what’s new,what’s trendy and he’ll come up with summat his bosses will say “yeah” that’s cool all the young ones will go for that! Right crack on we’ve got this years design that’s the parents wallets/purses lighter by £100 or so happy days! Your not gonna please all of the people all of the time. Side note how old is old enough not to wear a football shirt? Personally does it matter? There’s no harm in it your supporting your team both visibly and financially so f#@k it if your happy that’s all that counts.

I didn't buy a shirt for ages, mainly because I won't wear a shirt with red on it, also white shows up all my lumps and bumps! So for the last few years have bought an away shirt or a training shirt. And I don't give a tinker's cuss if people think I'm too old to wear a replica shirt. Mind you, I only wear one on match day.
Football shirts are brutal if your erm.....your not beach ready and white especially is cruel! but not as bad as grey that colour is unforgiving,grey leggings dearie me...
I buy a shirt every season. Haven't actually put one on for about 10 years. I used to wear one for one game a season out of habit/superstition but i can't even be bothered to do that any more.
At the end of the day I have a hard time understanding people who see this
as a more "traditional" Spurs kit than this

I buy the shirts every season aswell and like you the actual wearing of it perhaps two,three times a season normally if we're playing the goons,chavs or United just to show that you don't have to support them other teams are available! Personally I quite like seeing folk going about with,what will say less popular teams shirts on the fact that people support "smaller" teams which its all about. Plus me buying Tottenham shirts I'm supporting Tottenham fiancially in a small way.

Going full melt here, anyone that thinks not having predominantly plain white top is clearly a bit special and doesn’t understand the history of the club, also don’t @ me about how we used to play in chocolate or navy and red. We’re the lilywhites FFS.
If we reproduced the 61 or 81 kits for playing in,no sponsor just the shirt as was I'd have to lay down in a cool darkened room for a while it would be too much for me to take in

I reckon most would be happy to pay a yearly fee to have an actual Tottenham kit, and it would tighten your bond to club further.
All about networking though and not the money as such I guess
I guess sometimes you can't win... too 'gaudy and busy' and it's 'messing with tradition'... too 'simple' and it's 'Nike ripping off the fans by 'just' sticking a badge on a white t-shirt!'

I'm kinda in both camps... I haven't bought a 'modern' replica kit for decades, simply 'cos I do like the plain, traditional style!
Having said that, I only recently bought a 'replica' 1980/81 shirt... (and not the modern 'not quite accurate' one with FA CUP FINAL 1981 stuck on) this is full-on shiny zingy Le Coq Sportif classic!! ...and i'm an old git!!
W.B.A not sure why think it was an anniversary cup win? Reproduced that kit now it was on MOTD at night and it was plain white with w.b.a embroidered on the chest social media picked up on it,it was too bland blah,blah you won’t win.

Their logo is red because of the symbolic meaning in Asian culture of the colour red.
The meaning/symbolism of their red has nothing to do with the symbolism of Woolwich their red.
Can't honestly find them using a black version of their logo on their site.
They do have a white version, but putting it on a white shirt isn't viable of course
When our kit wasn't white (2nd or 3rd), we've never even used the red version.
Our deal is now worth 35 million pounds per year, up there with the top (as it should be!)
I rather have an insurance company on my shirt, than some betting company or a shady oil company

The shirt could also just have a navy block in the middle with AIA in white......(seeing as they are going with that awful design where 3/4 of the shirt is navy blue from the bottom anyway, which we could happily scrap)
Like Sampdoria, but a solid navy block and a white logo in the stripe, not above it.
A cleaner version of this basically......was it bad luck in Asia when we wore it?

You’re right, there are indeed solutions.
But then again, let's look at it from a marketing perspective:
If you do a marketing campaign to get your brand recognized, you'll always mainly use your original logo.
For example: Red Bull can sometimes be seen in white letters, but never for the most important campaigns:
You can say that Scuderia Toro Rosso has white letters on its car, but the main F1 team has the right colors, and all the football kits have the right colors for the logo too.
It would be very bad, from a marketing perspective, to have the main point of attention (our home kit) not representing your original logo.

Also I don't get the fuzz about it, the company isn't associated with Woolwich in any way, the reds have completely different meanings and it's even a different kind of red, even slightly magenta:
