Saying that it only seems to be the RAWK lot. I know a few Liverpool fans who were rooting for England.

It's mainly a political class thing. They see the rest of the country (particularly the south) as the old imperialist empire, stuffy, upper class, and on a mission to destroy them ( A lot of that is an echo of Anglo/Irish relations, as much of the population is from Ireland originally). Historically, It's a hotbed of communism and socialism, which history shows will usually lead to inverse elitism, with 'victim' becoming persecutor. They see themselves as 'salt of the earth', warm hearted and with a unique and wry sense of humour.

I dislike them more than Woolwich.

Just waiting for their chief cheerleader Tony Evans to write an in-depth article blaming it all on Juventus fans, and just to make it look reasoned and rational he'll try to square it off by tracing the "feeling" back to the Spanish Inquisition for a touch of unsubstantiated authenticity. Cunt.

I don't know why but I used to think all that "5 times" bullshit was a parody more than a reality but it's mind boggling when you actually here someone come up with it as a reasoned defence of Klopp's record. Just imagine what those cunts would have been like if they'd won that final against Madrid. No wonder everyone else was cheering on the Spanish team. I don't think we all truly grasped the gravity of what would have happened if Madrid had lost.

Completely agree that there are strong Irish links in Liverpool, but not convinced they play a part in them being such a bunch of cunts. I’m of direct Irish decent and don’t know anyone who echos behaviour like LFC supporters show on a regular basis. I’d go as far as saying with confidence that Liverpool’s claim to be Ireland’s second capital is nothing short of laughable and it’s a one way street of reflective credibility.

I was told once that Everton are more closely linked to the Irish republic than Liverpool and that Liverpool FC have strong founding links to the Orange order, that might explain some of the supremest and wanker like behaviour of Liverpool FC historically....just a theory.
 
I think it's important to remember how dominant they were in the 80's, so many kids around the country grew up supporting them because they won everything pretty much all the time. The come down must be like kicking a coke habit, that's why they're so salty.
