Match We can be heroes (again) Ajax versus Tottenham Hotspur CL Semi Final Wed 8th May

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

UEFA were most culpable for holding it in such a dilapidated stadium with inadequate segregation. Both sets of fans behaviour contributed but the situation should never have been created for it to happen. The whole organisation around football matches was very haphazard and amateurish compared to today.
Would it have happened with another team in Liverpool's place - possibly
Were Liverpool fans a big part of why it happened - definitely
Are there other things that added to it - yes

My prediction.
They'll go 1 up and there will be a lot of crying, wailing and swearing at HT.

Second half, Son scores early with a mazy dribble, then with 5 mins to go Lamela scores a perfect curling shot into the top corner.

Whoop whoop!! 👍🏻

I do expect us to concede but then come back strong. It’s all about the mentality and belief. We have the goods to get through. I hope the players are more calm than me though. I’m already a wreck and I haven’t started drinking yet. Maybe that will help.

Just opened my first bottle of UBU. Great beer.

Thoroughly recommend it. Can buy it in Tesco.

Go online and there is very little about this game. My timeline is absolutely full of Liverpool and EL semis for tomorrow. Only one's pushing out any info in the media is Spurs, Ajax twitter feeds and Alisdair Gold!! It is tonight right, I haven't got the weeks mixed up?
They're probably think it's a done deal, hope we show them otherwise.

We'll never know. A lot of it goes back to the final the year before when Liverpool played Roma in Rome and took a lot of shit from them and the police and there was maybe a mentality of they weren't gonna put up with that again. There's not enough CCTV coverage to say for sure the order of events but after the suppoesdly neutral section next to Liverpool fans started filling up with Juventus fans, bits of concrete started being thrown across the divide, a wire mesh fence, which come to pieces, and the Liverpool fans charged the Juventus fans, they fled and a wall collapsed on them. It should have been a story about disorder at football match, it was the dilapidated and unstable wall that turned it into a tragedy though.

Struggling to wrap my head around the magnitude of this match.

My old Dad dropped in earlier, and "Sonned" me for the first time in about 20 years. "Son, this is the biggest game since 1962". Glint in the eye stuff.

I'm sure the players know it by now, and the supporters out there in Amsterdam certainly do.

I think we'll do it.

No matter if Ajax score tonight, our job doesnt change. We need to score 2 to win. We could do with getting an early goal like Liverpool last night, but also not panic if its still 0-0 at 60 minutes.
