It's an aesthetic issue with Umtiti.

I actually agree with you that he's very good on the ball but he suffers from the same thing as Rudiger and Sakho in that he doesnt entirely look comfortable on the ball but he's actually very good on it.

I don't think Lenglet is better than him either. Valverde just does weird things.
Umtiti got a pretty serius injury and hasn't really been the same since

The love Llorente gets on here boils my fucking piss. Fair enough if you want to have sex with him, but you shouldn't be in a Pochettino team if you cannot, at the very least, fucking run.

Just pay the fucking money for Zaha. We're in the chl final, we're a big fucking club and should spend big club money
Because we are a big club we should pay more than double what a player is worth?

I hope that’s you trying to be ironic.

The problem is that we aren't going to buy someone who will truly challenge Kane. So we need someone who understands they are clearly the no. 2 option (or even no. 3 behind Son). That significantly limits recruiting unless you are willing to fork out a ton of money in wages for someone that will play a handful of games per season.

That's why there has been Rondon/Mitrovic talk because that feels like the wage/transfer/talent/playing time expectation balance we have right now for a backup striker.

Did we have to play like that because our midfield is garbage? If you like caveman football, no problem.
I like winning. And sometimes that requires playing in a manner that you don't prefer, because it allows you to attack the opponents weakness. Ajax were vulnerable against the long ball. Had we not put in Llorente, we wouldn't be in the CL final. That's a fact.

That wasn't really the point of my post though, it was to point out your insistence that said player doesn't belong on a team coached by the man who brought him to the team, AND put him on the field during the most important game of the season. It was a pretty ironic post you made, that's all I was saying.

I wouldn't mind Llorente coming back for another season, but it's clear he's not a long-term answer, and I still don't rate him much more than an emergency backup for Kane, and only in certain situations. But he's experienced, by all accounts he's a first-class professional and teammate, and those are valuable to have in the locker room even when they aren't that valuable on the pitch.

But if you prefer style over results, no problem.

Well we should sign a versatile attacking player, then.

At least Rondon is a proper athlete. Mitrovic is a clown.

Actually, I believe Rondon is more than that not that Poch would ever allow true competition against Harry. Harry does not give us the ability to run off the shoulder hence we play in front of all the teams unless it's Sonny or Moura leading the line. Rondon can run most any CB in the prem except for maybe VVD. Just remember back to when he outpaced Sanchez at Wembley amongst other runs.

I have no problems with Llorente staying if he is used as a plan B striker and not a backup. He does not have the tools to do it. However, if we get an actual MF and some FBs perhaps we will have some more assured possession in order to allow Llorente to get into certain positions.

Pricetags and boners aside, Rondon or Gomez for you?

Others have answered this for you but didn't want to ignore. I have not focused too much on Gomez in the Celta games I have viewed so I wouldn't want to give an opinion. But my pick would be Rondon but not because I think he is underrated and deserves love or because I chair his "Rondon for the Ballon d'Or" committee (which I do) but because he has known qualities suited for the PL and in general he is a known quantity that would accept a backup role and still work hard. A 22 year old may not and would cost a bundle to find out whereas Rondon would be 16M at most and seems more athletic than Gomes who looks similar to Harry in that area.
