Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Alves would be so good and fun. Alves to play the big games or against teams that park the bus and Aurier/Foyth to fight it out for the mid table teams. Also when two games played in a week get Alves to rest.

Alves is too much a modern day defender for me. Of course he has qualities. But i want somebody who we sign as a defender, Whos job is to defend. That should and i would expect to be what they are best at. Alves is not that kind.

If that’s true regards Maguire does that mean he’s better than Van Dyke and Dunk is half as good......

Why did Perryman disagree with the above post? I asked a genuine question, I don't know and haven't heard of Dunk.
I said I was terrible at cryptic crosswords, Perryman gave me a disagree. I am not sure if it was compliment. Still, a weird disagree to give out.

If the clause in Toby's contract says that he must have signed a contract with another club no later than 2 weeks before the end of the PL transfer window, then I think the last date is 25 July.

If Toby is on the club tour we leave on about Wednesday and play the 2nd game on July 25 - and clubs generally make players inaccessible to their agents once on tour.

So if Toby goes on tour in about 3 or 4 days time it's even more likely than not that he's staying and probably running down his contrsct. Think everyone will be pleased not to have the distration of Toby's contract and is he staying or going !

Bold move as he's refused several contract offers so remains on about £70k PW versus the £150k he could be on at Spurs so missing out o about £4m each year - so already turned down about £10m and another year of missed opportunity coming up. Think he will find it difficult to be guaranteed to make that up at another club over the 3 or 4 year contract he is likely to get until the end of his top flight playing career.

And imagine he picks up a bad injury this year?
