Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There are totally legitimate concerns around Mou’s ability to challenge at the top end of the modern game. I just don’t think you can judge him that harshly on the current situation. He came in mid-season to a team in relegation form still suffering a hangover after losing the CL final. There have been significant injuries to Lloris, Davies, Ndombele, Sissoko, Kane, Son and Lamela. Eriksen was sold in January and we didn’t sign a striker even though Kane was already out for the season.

Despite this we have made up a lot of ground on 4th place and are still in the CL and FA Cup by playing some scrappy football, but now the injuries and workload placed on the team are having a big effect. No manager could do much better than what we are doing, I think some fans are not being realistic about the standard of our team. We’ve had about 4 or 5 decent 90 minutes since the start of last season, I am 100% serious about that. There are problems with the team that have been festering for the better part of 2 years, and until we get to the summer window and have a proper pre-season, there is no chance of them being fixed.

I see people ranting about Mourinho-ball but I don’t see any difference in quality really between this scrappy stuff and the chaotic hoofball/utterly sterile possession football we played from January 2019 onwards under Poch. This team is lacking many of the ingredients needed to play high quality football, partly due to injuries and partly due to lack of transfer activity. We need to give Mourinho and our new players time. It’s tough to fix all our problems in the middle of the season and impossible to do it without our best players.

Mourinho has said numerous times that he adapts his style based on the teams strengths. He did it at Porto, Real Madrid, Inter, Chelsea. Until he's given the time to stop the bleeding which he had started to do and until we get a genuine look at Mourinho's Tottenham and not this makeshift team we see, its simp,y too early to pass judgement.

Points wise I think he's had an excellent start with all things considered. The last week has been a real sickener.

Won 3 EPL titles, 2 Serie A titles, 1 La Liga title, 2 Champions League, 1 Europa League, numerous domestic cups and there are people who think he's shit and even calling him shit.
He took over just 3 months ago and do you really expect this team (14th place by the time he took over) to play like champions all of sudden?
Don't you think even the greatest football manager will need more time and at least one proper transfer market to make proper changes?
Have some respect and patience people, he's a proven winner and the best manager you ever had.

Their fans wept openly in the streets when he was fired. I here they want to erect a statue in his honour for winning the Charity Shield.

I work with a couple of United fans, and when Mourinho was in charge they absolutely hated him. The Luke Shaw stuff really didn’t go down well.

Having said that, they both admitted being conflicted about the fact that he won a European trophy, which is rightfully considered a massive achievement for any club.

As long as he does solid things for our club I really couldn't care about his issues elsewhere.

He called out Shaw, Pogba and Martial when Man U manager. Can we honestly say looking at all 3 since that he was wrong?

"Poch is a progressive, and even when he loses, you see his team try to play to a philosophy & mandate."

We looked un-inspired and lifeless by then end....

It's amazing; all these fuckers were bashing Poch for no trophies when he was in the job; now it's reverence time! I wonder if they were as complimentary after Newcastle, Bayern or Brighton?

He tried to talk some sense into Pogba by using Frank Lampard's professionalism as a player as an example. Pogba asked him if Lampard had a World Cup Winner's medal.

I think he was wrong to hang Shaw out to dry in public like that. Anyway, I don’t really have any huge issues with him. For me this season is a free hit for him to get to know the squad and prepare for next season.

No excuses after the summer though.

It's another one of those hater contradictions....

"It's a tournament for losers"

"Levy/Poch are cunts for looking down on the secondary trophies"
