Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I work with a couple of United fans, and when Mourinho was in charge they absolutely hated him. The Luke Shaw stuff really didn’t go down well.

Having said that, they both admitted being conflicted about the fact that he won a European trophy, which is rightfully considered a massive achievement for any club.
They also know that they absolutely fluked that trophy too. The semi-final game was an utter joke of performance, every Man U fan openly admits. Then in the final lets also not forget he was in effect playing against an U21 side.

It is, unfortunately, a consolation trophy in its current format.

When you've achieved miracles with your hands tied up for 4 years, then get your pants pulled down, legs tied up, and dick slapped accross the face by your boss as gratitude, is it any wonder he gave up?

What will it actually take for you to admit the problem was not the manager, but the chairman who lost his managers confidence.

You are not Spurs.... You are a boring, depressive, sad cunt

It’s not really a consolation trophy. It’s actually tougher than the old UEFA cup as its possible to have a number of league champions featuring in the later rounds. It’s even more significant now that it guarantees CL qualification.

"Poch is a progressive, and even when he loses, you see his team try to play to a philosophy & mandate."

We looked un-inspired and lifeless by then end....

It's amazing; all these fuckers were bashing Poch for no trophies when he was in the job; now it's reverence time! I wonder if they were as complimentary after Newcastle, Bayern or Brighton?
That's not the point being made though is it.

If we played well under Jose and lost the game I would be the first person on here to give it a thumbs up. The point is were are getting our arses handed to us AND playing shit football. I want to see signs of attractive football, even if we lose or draw. I can support this. It gives confidence that there is some coaching going on, a plan/system that the players are responding to.

Even though I hate his style of football, I would feel more comfortable if we were stopping the oppo from playing, just as he gets all his teams to do. But we aren't even doing this!! He can't even coach his own boring brand of football, we aren't shutting teams out.

I would say dude the old UEFA was harder. For many years the European cup would only be league winners and 2/3/4 would be in the UEFA.
I would say the average was far higher as there were less shitfuck teams.

The man has to come up with something by this time next season.

I just want us to again be the best at some facet of the game.

Right now and I don't lay the majority of the blame on Mourinho, we are average in every aspect of the game.

But you only qualify to play in it if you aren't good enough (or don't pick up yellow cards) to qualify for the Champions League. Or if you FAIL to get into the knockout phase of the CL. It's fundamentally flawed comp.

Yes, it does now have a big prize at the end of the rainbow with CL qualification, but that too is proof that it's a consolation, win it and you are awarded the right to play in the big one you weren't good enough to play in.

There's also a strong argument that it's better off for clubs to not even qualify for it and focus on the League, doubt Leicester would have won the Lague had they been competing in it, and doubt they would be where they are now if they were in it. Same too of Chelsea under Conte, doubt they would have won the league that year.

It's flawed.

Even on a final he parked the bus against u21 ajax kids and fluked his way via long balls to Fellaini.
