Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The UEFA final? The one he ended up winning and getting Man U back in the Champions League with? Against a team that were literally seconds away from being in the Champions League final the following year? The team who sold assets they had that year to the likes of Tottenham, Juventus and Barcelona?

For too long I heard people say we place nice football but it was time we started winning. Seems like either way some people can't win then.

2 years later and with a much better manager. The manager Mourinho faced was the chump who got fired from Dortmund after half a season. His Ajax team were no where near the quality of the one we faced.

I was just wondering who Tony Pulis was managing. No one, it turns our, because his brand of football is dated, drives away fans and simply isn't effective anymore. Didn't Mourinho once describe Pulis as his idol or something?

MindBlown, why not tell everyone you used to post on Glory Glory as Afan and got outed as a Goon.

Nope thought not

Yes it’s flawed but it’s also made up of domestic cup winners, so effectively doubling as the old Cup Winners Cup. In theory it could include 8 current title winners too.

The biggest problem is how drawn out it is. They should drop the group stages that only exist to include fictitious countries rumoured to be orbiting Jupiter.
It really should be a knockout comp from the off.

I would have said only open to Cup winners but in the age of the domination of the supper rich clubs that wouldn't change a thing.

If you are knocked out of the CL that should be the end of you, no way should you be parashoted into the competition.

My apologies yes it was the year before we played them yes. Finals are known to be pretty tight affairs right? He won that one 2-0 didn't he? I'd take a 2-0 win in any final I see us play in every day of the week.

Time will tell if Mourinho's style of football is dated. To utter Mourinho's name in the same breath as Tony Pulis though is rather insulting to a man that has won more trophies combined than we have in our history though NW.

Unlike you, I have never posted on any forum other than TFC

Unlike you, I never pretend to have been at WHL over 1000 times. Even a century old Mick Cooper Mick Cooper would never make such a claim.

1000? Lying again Afan. I said 400 + games although it's prob in the 300's. Though that's nothing people like Nutter and Guido have probably done double that.

You're probably still stuck on 0

Mate, I know this! (He was here five years and you bring up a handful of games).

I'm referencing the first half of this season. Nor am I in denial of the upside of Poch's tenure.

Look, I was Poch_In (+ on the flipside #NoWayJose)....

Please mate; don't mug me off as being like the binary minded wankers in our midst.

Things weren't going well, something need to give.

...And the bloke who's tweets you posted shows no acknowledgement of this; just a blinkered comparison to Jose.

"If I own an English club, I sign Tony Pulis," Mourinho said.

"It's as simple as that - he's a guarantee to achieve what the club wants."

His words. They're cut from the same cloth.

I’ve said in the past that CL teams shouldn’t get a second chance in the EL. It does cheapen things a bit. However, I can understand the logic behind it. Bring in more leagues/money then later turn it into some bastardised version of the UEFA Cup.

Completely agree that it should be knock-out, home/away. It’s still a massive trophy, whatever way you look at it.
