The new stadium and training ground are a wonderful addition but the money spent on it has left us cash poor for trading. I think that unless we see massive improvement in the quality of our game, the stadium is going to be mainly a venue and not a football ground. I know I'll receive a lot of insults and flak for saying this but I think it was the wrong way round. The dosh spent on facilities instead of players could have made us better than 'pool , city et al. THEN we should have built the stadium to accommodate a world class team capable of winning anything. Now we have a top stadium but a mediocre team. People like myself have canceled our season tickets and the general public won't pay the outrageous prices they are charging for tickets. The economics just don't compute. Plus in order to attract gifted players, we need to be competitive which even the most ardent supporters can't argue that we offer an attractive future. I don't mean to sound negative. I'll be a supporter, armchair or otherwise until I die but which talented young player is going to choose us over the competition.

Young players are actually more likely to go to a team with a weaker first team - they go where the opportunity to progress is easier, that's why Scum currently have better 18-19 year old than us.....Jaydon Sancho didn't always dream of playing for Dortmund

Poch's quote summed up the situation perferctly
'we have the house but we don't have the furniture'
And what is a nice house without anything in it , Levy has neglected the squad for years , he's relied on Poch's excellent management ability and when that started to fall apart , the cracks started showing.

You’ll be a “supporter” until you die? I think you might need to look up what supporter means after a post like that.

You obviously have no grasp of building a business or a football club. The stadium and training ground will attract a higher quality of player on their own. Plus, we were challenging for the title when we started building it, so who did you want added to the team back then that would have improved us the ten points or so that would have won us the title at the old ground?

We are obviously a club with challenges right now, but we are building a bright future here, rather than winning one title now, we seem to be building to win several soon.

Give up your season ticket, fine. Hopefully to someone who is vocal in their support of the club, replacing someone who has a go at the most basic of improvement strategies.

You made it clear yesterday that you aren’t one for insults, so I’ll leave it there.

Poch’s quote? When did he say that then?

The statement is true but Poch is also to blame for that.

Poch was heavily involved in our transfer business and had final say on what targets that Levy were to approach. Poch however fell into the trap of wanting new and better players, but also not wanting to piss off an existing squad with which he had a very buddy-buddy relationship.

The concept of the classic manager that has control over everything in the first team is a nice call back to the olden days of football. But it doesn't work today because the manager role now is so focused on man managing and handling massive egos. There needs to be a separate entity (a sporting director/DOF) that handles scouting and player sales/purchases, so that the manager can focus on handling the existing squad.

So whilst your statement is true it is not just Levy that neglected the squad over that period.

Stadium was planned for years. Training ground one of the best in the world.
The squad we had in some ways overachieved but didn’t “achieve” if that makes sense. Could probably write paragraphs on that point alone.

Long term we were in a good place. COVID might change that a bit. But I think they made the right choices.

We should have won the league the year Leicester did. And we could easily have won the CL. Both of those more failures of the management and players than Levy IMO.

A supporter is someone who wants success for their club
In 20 years down the line what would you rather say : We've won plenty of trohpies or in 2020 we had the world's nicest stadium

Honestly can’t recall anything close to that. It’s very direct and I think would lead to a bit of squad unrest that I can’t recall.
“When you talk about Tottenham, everyone says you have an amazing house but you need to put in the furniture,” said Pochettino. “If you want to have a lovely house maybe you need better furniture. And it depends on your budget if you are going to spend money. We need to be respectful with teams like Manchester City or Liverpool who spend a lot of money. We are brave, we are clever, we are creative.” This is directly from Poch..
Basically what I said. and very apt for the squad right now. That squad has gone stale because Levy gambled in 2018 by not investing and his gamble didn't pay off.

Plz don't try and suggest to me that Poch wanted to sign NO-ONE in the 2018/19 season , Poch probably rejected some crap players like Batshuyai , but we know Poch wanted players eg. Mane but Levy wouldn't go to his wage demands. Levy has always been holding this club back and he will continue to do so.

Fair enough, not quite as direct as initially stated, but still close to it. Forgot it was part of the “brave” thing.

That was a brilliant quote, to be fair.

Achieved his remit years ahead of schedule on a shoestring budget and the backdrop of Wembley, earning the club the world record profits we're seeing today.

Then when he needed the tools to move the team to the next level that he and the fans deserve Levy shat the bed and hid in the cupboard for 18 months.

That's the reality. The mystery is why so many back the man that prioritised the profit over the man who wanted glory.

Once again, people who back Levy, back the rest of the club too.

To repeat for the hard of understanding, the SSB, of which I am a spokesman, back the whole club. EVERYONE IN THE CLUB.

We aren’t the ones picking and choosing targets because we haven’t won five quadruples in a row and haven’t got a front two of Messi and Mbappe.

We understand the basic idea that when the club is successful, it’s down to the collective effort. And when it fails, it’s a collective failure.

You’re the LOB, so you think every success is due to Poch and every failure is due to Levy. That’s what makes you mental.

Poch wanted players in 18-19 yes. But he is very picky about who he wanted.

Frenkie De Jong himself confirmed that we were in for him and that the clubs had everything agreed. But he decided to stay put because his agent informed him of the interest from Barcelona. And Poch refused the option that was Grealish that Levy had prepared. And once we had no choice than to go back for Grealish the new owners told us to fuck off.

Poch and his pickishness about who to sign (and quite frankly quite shoddy scouting) are just as much to blame about our failing transfers in recent years.

To point at "the bald fucker" is not only naive but foolish. Levy carries some of the blame but Poch does just as much.
