The new stadium and training ground are a wonderful addition but the money spent on it has left us cash poor for trading. I think that unless we see massive improvement in the quality of our game, the stadium is going to be mainly a venue and not a football ground. I know I'll receive a lot of insults and flak for saying this but I think it was the wrong way round. The dosh spent on facilities instead of players could have made us better than 'pool , city et al. THEN we should have built the stadium to accommodate a world class team capable of winning anything. Now we have a top stadium but a mediocre team. People like myself have canceled our season tickets and the general public won't pay the outrageous prices they are charging for tickets. The economics just don't compute. Plus in order to attract gifted players, we need to be competitive which even the most ardent supporters can't argue that we offer an attractive future. I don't mean to sound negative. I'll be a supporter, armchair or otherwise until I die but which talented young player is going to choose us over the competition.
Young players are actually more likely to go to a team with a weaker first team - they go where the opportunity to progress is easier, that's why Scum currently have better 18-19 year old than us.....Jaydon Sancho didn't always dream of playing for Dortmund
