Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Already IN:
Hojbjerg
Hart
Doherty

Still need: CB, ST, CM

That is the order of concern for after this apparent signing.

- Skriniar for Ndombele seems to have some legs. Latest I read indicated Conte wants him desperately. Levy doesn't want to sell unless he gets good value (ex: Skriniar). Inter is hesitant to include him. I think there is too much smoke for there not to be any truth. I have a feeling this one happens.

- King and Wilson seem to be the most likely. I'm fine with either.

- The most heavily linked midfield player is Rakitic, but I have read he really wants Sevilla. I don't think it'll happen. I have my fingers crossed for Sangare.
Can you stop jynxing shit? Don’t you know how the transfer window works? Doherty isn’t “Already IN” yet :lamelaaghh:

Vidal and Kante being alternatives to Ndombele? Something doesn’t smell right about this but I hope you are right. Honestly Tanguy staying + Doherty signing would make me a happy man.

Still work to do and other signings to make but it would be a great step in the right direction.

Vidal and Barella should be enough with regards to central midfield for them.

On top of Gagliardi, Valero, Vecino, Barella and Brozovic. As well as potentially Nainggolan being back and the promising Agoume.

About ndombele, I like him and think he could be great for us. But if Jose doesn’t like or trust him to start most games we have to sell him. It’s either to be a starter or sell. Too much money on him to be a bench warmer.

I understand, but I also think it's very narrow-minded to say that one year later that last summer was bad. Lo Celso has already come good, and if Ndombele gets a chance and gets fit he could also be a key player. Clarke was a punt who needs a loan and Sessegnon was a Poch buy but one that Mourinho also wanted at United.

I just think that trying to take lessons from a window 12 months after it happened is not a great way to approach this type of analysis.

Similarly I get where you're coming from.....

I think it's fair to say we needed more of an instant pay-off from last summer's window though and it's just as fair to say we didn't get it. Bit like the Magnificent 7.... Wasn't the complete howler it seemed after year 1... But we needed more immediate impact than we got and suffered as a result.

PEH & Doherty should (hopefully) bring that about even if they aren't glitzy signings.

(Be sure though, my point here isn't that we should avoid spending..... Just can't escape the irony that we're pretty crap when it comes to the bigger pricetags.)

I think PEH and Doherty will make more of an instant impact for a variety of reasons that are completely unrelated to money spent or not. It's all a bit overblown one way or another in any case.

LOL - Messi sent a fax - proper Levy-style

Messi communicated to Barcelona via fax on Tuesday that he wants to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.
