I understand dele's form hasn't been good but he's only really been bad since the whole team was playing bad too, also he's been the one who has been sacrificed to do the extra running or fill in here or there when injuries hav occurred or tactical switches.I'm going to ignore the youngsters thing, as only time will tell how that plays out.
I get there might be a slim case for the Doherty thing on a purely short term, footballing basis, I'm not convinced but I'll accept there's an argument to be had. But it makes no sense on financial or team building levels.
What do we give him a 4 year deal ? then in two years time we've got a spent 30yo RB who we need to recycle again, who's lost about 80% of that value, who'll just end up like TA, SIssoko, Rose, JV just hanging around taking up a valuable squad place.
Do we even know Doherty will be able to replicate what Aurier does, in terms of athleticism and dynamism, getting up and down the pitch, playing in a back 4 instead of Wolves back 5?
I get mine from a local farm. Unadulterated as nature intended. Fantastic.Non-homogenised Doc, or get rid of all the fat (if Homogenised, the process damages the delicate fats rendering them very iffy for many) IMO.
Full Raw Guernsey A2 was my last hurrah with animal milk,
Reports that seven(!) players at Chelsea has tested positive. Why the fuck are these players even allowed to go on holiday abroad??

He has moments of brilliance in him too, I think we will see the best of him this season if he can remain injury free.
On the Doherty debate. I think he'll be a great signing for us genuinely beats his man quite well gets goals and can create.
Someone pulled up his defence stats not saying they were as good Aurier but these can also be misleading as well.
He wins a hell of a lot more headers which often goes unnoticed. For example if the opposition play a diagonal Aurier will probably stand of his man let him control it then make a tackle. Whereas full backs who are good in the air will just attack the ball and try to win the header
I think Doherty is a better player all round so for 15m is good business no reason why he can't play at a good level untill he's 32-33
What exactly do you mean by big rebuild then ? selling half the team and buying 6-7 new players ?
The current transfers is exactly how the squad can be incrementally improved slowly. Unless you want to go the Leeds way and splurge cash on "stars" and end up where they ended up

Just made me think of a Sunday Sport headline....
Careful now. You appear to be melting....Which of us hadn't taken medications?
One is melting down about the fact that Spurs was not mentioned in gossip column where 98% is absolute bullcrap anyway, other was being over-the-top sarcastic about this melting...
But guess you don't have to take a dose today, as we were linked with Doherty ...
I'm not an expert on him by any means but what I've seen from him is he's quite clever uses his space well and a decent dribbler and quick enough without just relying on that got good work ethic too. And he's 28 not 35How good is he technically? And how much does he rely on pace to win his battles? The stronger technically and less reliance on pace the longer he can play at the highest level.
I'm talking about us and what we need. Clearly the squad is not good enough and the players we bought in did not improve us because we finished 6th by the skin of our teeth. Mourinho can't take the same squad and do better Poch like he and the board thought he was going to do.So the average team "rebuilds" every summer & January do they?
Sorry mate, as terminology goes, it's not typically taken to mean something merely reflective of general window-to-window trf activity.... The term "re-build" usually reflects a significant overhaul of a squad that is deemed to be nearing the end of a cycle; often taking multiple windows to achieve....
We've had 9 new players (and counting) through the door in approx 12 months the bulk of which are younger than those on the way out.... We ARE in the midst of a rebuild. That is exactly what's going on..... If you want to see 15 players in and out in just over a year you're being entirely unrealistic (perhaps if money is no object, but let's park that fantasy for the benefit of sensible discussion).
Your use of the term "smoke and mirrors" is entirely inappropriate too..... Are you suggesting that the players being brought in (especially the likes of GLC, Ndombele, Sess, Bergwijn & Doherty) weren't/aren't intended/expected to improve us? ....That (eg) 60m for Ndombele was just an elaborate ruse?

He HAS to do better next season otherwise he's gone, so this is the one window to back him and bring better players. PEH, Hart, Doherty that's not good enough and don't improve us significantly.
It's a challenging job working with the insane. Some guy at work just tried to tell me we were in for Ross Barkley...
I hear you, but I think there's a direct contradiction between any medium term team building aspirations Levy may have and Mourinho's impatience for a "Win Now" culture.I'm going to ignore the youngsters thing, as only time will tell how that plays out.

I just wish we had paid 70M for him 3 years agoSome guy at work just tried to tell me we were in for Ross Barkley...
What have you seen in the last 2 years from Dele that make you think, the coming season will show us the best of him?I understand dele's form hasn't been good but he's only really been bad since the whole team was playing bad too, also he's been the one who has been sacrificed to do the extra running or fill in here or there when injuries hav occurred or tactical switches.

If we buy him we won't take over his contract. We write a new one. And if he wants 400k a week we won't sign him.and not to mention he is on 400k a week and is 33. Just a 2 year contract would cost 44million
I'm going to ignore the youngsters thing, as only time will tell how that plays out.

Spurs currently have 3 Club Trained Players - Kane, Winks and Rose - which limits Spurs to 24 players for a UEFA match squad.......or 23 assuming Rose moves on.......and that's about as small as a PL squad can be to compete in europe.
