I like Reguillon.

Just don't see Mourinho going for it because he likes Davies, has high hopes for Sessegnon and loves Cirkin.

UNLESS he signs Reguillon, loans Cirkin out and sees Sessegnon as more of an attacking player - I just can't see him going through with it.

Could always go back three in some instances with Doherty as a RWB, Reguillon and Sessegnon fighting it out for LWB and Davies playing LCB though..

Lloris
Alderweireld - Sanchez - Davies
Doherty - Lo Celso - Hojbjerg - Ndombele - Reguillon
Son - Kane
Actually looks pretty good.

16 million fee, scouting system fails us again. No good going after the lad when he's an established prem player, if he does well his price could be 70-80m.
How the fuck has the scouting system failed? Did we not know about the player? Did this signing come out of nowhere for one of the most highly rated young Championship players?

The scouting is fine, it's paying the money and wages we always seem to have a problem with...maybe the player himself thought he'd be more likley to get a game at Palace tbh...maybe he saw how little Jack Clarke played after a big enough move.

Nothing makes me believe Mourinho will go to a back 3. On the day we drew 2-2 at Woolwich, he as in the studio and discussed how teams who are switched on are now defending with a back 4, building with a back 3 where the left back tightens up to a centre half and the right back becomes a right wing back, meaning the right winger can come inside. That's how I expect him to continue, which is why Doherty will fit in so well.

Very disappointing this one. Not so much a scouting system failure as we seemed to be well aware of Eze and a few months ago it seemed like we were very keen to sign him, more a recruitment system failure as we seemed to choose to spend 27m on non HG Bergwijn instead.

Would much rather have spent 16m on Eze.

The scouting system isn't fine, if it was we wouldn't spend window after window looking for proper back up for Kane.

Hello everyone! First post here. Been following Tottenham ever since since AVB became the manager, and with the 2012/3 season, Gareth Bale became my favourite player. He really was amazing in that CAM position, you always knew he would score from that centre/right-outside of the box area.

I'm a Sporting supporter here in Portugal, but you can count on me on having an unbiased opinion about portuguese managers/players/football in general.

Speaking about this summer transfer, if we assume Doherty is signing, it has been a sensible transfer window. Two players with PL experience, quite cheap, and both have the profile to become 'Mourinho soldiers'. I believe Doherty is a big upgrade on Aurier, while Pierre is an understandable option for a short of quality midfield area. Joe Hart, he will definitely be a sub, but in my opinion a player who will benefit mentally from working under Jose.

Assuming a back up striker will be signed.. Who do you think that player could be?
Also, do you think there will be any signings apart from Doherty and a striker?

Thanks!
Sounds like you will get on well with Nabil Bentaleb Nabil Bentaleb

there is no winning here.. If Eze had turned out a flop that failed on the big stage (there is no dearth of such case studies), this same section of fans would accuse Levy of penny-pinching and not going after highly rated young talent like Bergiwjn just because he costs more than Eze

Then the Reguillon links are pointless.
