Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

I like eze but is still unproven at the highest level.

We have too many players at the club still finding their way in the prem we don't need anymore unless some are moved on. Squad will just be bloated.

As for eze or bergwijn. One was playing champions league and already a full Dutch international n one is a good championship player

Very disappointing this one. Not so much a scouting system failure as we seemed to be well aware of Eze and a few months ago it seemed like we were very keen to sign him, more a recruitment system failure as we seemed to choose to spend 27m on non HG Bergwijn instead.

Would much rather have spent 16m on Eze.

Eze wasnt available in January as QPR didnt ewant to sell then. Good news is Bergwijn was available and personally very happy with him and hope/expect him to become a significant goal/assist maker for Spurs (as he has been for PSV) this coming season.

Would certain;y have liked Eze this summer as he would offer something different - and we do need to add more creativity if Ndombele isn't playing very much - so would have been happy to sacrifice the much injured Lamela to bring in much younger, fitter and HG Eze. Sadly doesnt look like it now

How many times have you seen him play?

because we'd been heavily linked with him, over Christmas I looked out as many QPR games as I could find, here's one of the posts I made at the time:

Been doing my homework on Eze. Maybe not many excited by this one, especially with all the talk of Bale, but I think we should be.

I’ve watched the QPR v Reading game and extended highlights of them v Hull, Blackburn and Luton.

This kid is definitely worth a punt.Powerful physique, quick, direct, quick feet, runs at people and has end product. Scores and assists. Shows good composure for a 21yo - takes their penalties - and was very cool with them.

Like.

There is neither going to be a LB nor a DM signing in all probability, there are enough options on paper in both positions . A back-up to Kane seems quite unlikely too since Son has been prolific.

Doherty could be our penultimate signing

It would be amazing if N'dombele is sold and a Grealish-deal is struck in the dying minutes of the window.
I would swap grealish for ndombele in a heartbeat

The other factor not mentoned is the Chinese transfer market is open for the month of September but not now. And I guess his current Chinese club will want to ensure they have his replacement lined up too before Kim Min Jae leaves.

So if Kim Min Jae comes it will be in September (and probably not first week) - our TW ends 5 October so there's plenty of time.

There is no way in a million years we sell Ndombele and go in for Grealish, Levy just wouldn't do it as he would look stupid for not getting the deal done for cheaper a few seasons ago, besides i would rather Ndombele as he deserves this season to show us what he can do, as for the other signings we have a £50 million pound war chest to spend, if we sell Aurier and get in Doherty there will be at least 3 more signings this window.
I agree with what you say ndombele should get another chance but there is a part of me that just thinks he ain't going sort his shit out also I don't think we have time for a player of his calibre and wages to be sitting around tossing himself off all day, he had all of lock down to get up to speed now he has covid(not entirely his fault) which means his pre season is fucked... He's just so frustrating
