Reguillon is an excellent left back, available at a very affordable price, and would immediately improve both our starting team and squad, but you’re probably right, we most likely won’t go for him because we’ve got Ben Davies who we’re willing to plod along with for another season.
It’s just such a shit attitude to have and one I’m pissed off that so many of our fans just lie down and accept.

Note: I’ll gladly eat my words if we do end up signing Reguilon.

Lets assume I rate Davies as poorly as you do; what actions should I be taking over it if the manager likes what Ben brings to the table and doesn't prefer a more attacking option at LB?

I never did agree with Levy's head of scouting appointment.....

I want N'dombele to stay but I think he will be funding the new CB unfortunately.

Where do you think that team would finish?

International break will be restricted to Nations League this time. Lo Celso, for example, is in no hurry to start this friendly - plus we´ve got another one tomorrow.

It also explains why we´ll have another friendly in September.

5th at best.

Add Ndombele and potential top 4.

With Winks - 6th

With a proper CM - 4th

I can see what Mourinho sees in Davies and sure it’s good to have the option to play that way, but you can’t honestly say we can just play that system for the whole season?

1) Davies cannot play every game, we need another left back.
2) other teams will most certainly cop onto the system, as they already did to a degree last season. (Probably didnt help that Mourinho announced to the world this is how he wants us to play either) An alternative option at left back would be invaluable.

The disrespect for Winks is incredible. Someone who would bleed for the shirt, but we're all begging for Ndombele to stay, a player who hasn't shown half the desire.

Some fans really are strange.

Cool.... But my question?

Rather the "lie back and accept it" what should I be doing?

Reguilon doesn’t really make sense. He’s really attacking and I’m expecting Doherty (if he signs) to be the one FB that is given license to get forward. That’s why I think Jose is happy to stick with Davies. He probably won’t cross the halfway line.

I don't get this thinking (from Jose not you).

Reguilon is a better defender than Davies, so he can do the task that Davies is asked to do but better as well as provide an option going forward when needed.

I understand if Davies was some sort of wonder defender that couldn't be matched, but he isn't close to that.

I also understand wanting the LB to play a more defensive/conservative role, but why does that mean that player has to be completely useless going forward? Surely there can't be something wrong with having the LB having the option to provide something going forward. How does that hurt what Jose wants to do?
