if you took kdb out of city i think they would struggle for top 4. if our midfield turn up then i think we will win this easy. hojbjerg biggest test of the season imo, dont get much harder being cdm against a team with kdb in it. COYS

If you took KDB out of City they would be at worst the 2nd most talented team in the league.

A MF of Rodri-Foden-Bernardo Silva is better than probably every team other than maybe Liverpool, plus they still have Gungdogan, Fernandiho and Mahrez who could also fill in there as well.

I wouldnt say struggle for top four due to their depth. But without him they do struggle. Here's their record in the league over the last season when he doesn't start :

W: 3
D: 1
L : 4

1.25 points per game.

As opposed to with him over the same period:

W: 26
D : 5
L: 5

2.03 points per game.

they are a million miles away from where they was 2-3 years ago. agueros best days are long behind him and jesus is good but not world class. midfield are decent but a player like kdb will improve the players around him, take him our of there and i think they struggle. sane coming off the bench for them before was a beast of a weapon and they dont have that anymore. they are a lot weaker than a few years ago and everyone else has improved

Luckily for them even being off where they were 2-3 years ago is better than every other team than Liverpool.

Taking away KDB their midfield is still better than ours, especially if Jose continues to start Sissoko.

They likely wouldn’t compete with Liverpool but would still easily make the top 4.

And that is assuming you just take KDB away without letting them replace him.

take away kdb and a midfield 3 of hojbjerg, ndom and gio is better than anything city have imo (on paper).

well we will see how city end up this year with kdb, and see just how far they have fallen from 2-3 years ago.

replace him with who? i cant think of a player in world football who can come in and replace him so if he did go they would weaken regardless.

We have seen GLC-PEH-Ndombele zero times and despite what he says there is not much reason to think Jose will ever play it.

Even if he did it’s debatable that they are better than Bernardo Silva-Rodri-Foden and then they have Fernandinho and Gungdogan on the bench which is certainly better than Sissoko and Winks.

With the unlimited funds and draw to their club I am sure they can get someone who while not as good as KDB would walk into to any team in the premier league.

i think jose will play gio, peh and ndom against teams that look to sit and counter us, when gio and ndom are fit enough that is.

well we will see how it plays out for city this year! its the weakest they've been under peps reign imo, sheer lack of firepower now and its gonna cost them.

Lloris
Doherty - Alderwiereld - Dier - Reguilon
Sissoko - Hojbjerg - Ndombele
Lucas - Kane - Son
Would be amazed if we didn't see that.

What worked well on Sunday (if anything) was the introduction of Vinicius. The WBA defenders didn't know who to pick up between him and Kane, allowing Kane to drop deeper and leave space by pulling a centre half out of position.

I think Kane will look to drop deep in this game, pulling either Laporte or Diaz with him, that'll leave space for Son or Bale/Lucas to move into.

I hope this isn’t as disastrous as the 2-0 win last season.
That didn’t count as we only had two shots and scored them both, and they missed a penalty and 22 shots.

What a bad 3pts that was, I’d hate to win 2-0 again.
It has shades of the Southampton 5-1, where we should be ashamed because we only drew the first half.
Foyden is also one of the best young players in world football.

I’m ashamed how long it took me to pick up the satire

Funny Sammy, but Saints game was 5-2!!

You'd think Spurs are having regular tests of their players, as our any PL club, so I don't imagine they'd have caught anything which hasn't been found since that match.

Still worrying that week to week many of these teams will have shitty or non existent testing regimes .... (See our lucky escape with Orient)

4-5-1 in this game..

Lamela will need to start I feel. Can't believe I am saying that alongside Hojbjerg, one of Ndombele or Lo Celso, Son and a n other (Maybe Winks)

Kane to spearhead obviously.

Sissoko not likely to start in this game.

Then we will have firepower to bring on if needed.

Just can't see us being open at all.

It's where we miss Alli of old. 24 and of old. Strewth but he and Eriksen would run beyond Kane and often arrive late into the box. We have not got that on a regular basis anymore which is a shame.
Obviously first time they started together. But noticed that with Kane coming deep, Bale and Son played almost as 2 CF.

Numerous times during the game I said to my dad we look too narrow. It does seem to be an obvious tactic. Happened against Southampton, West Ham and Man U.

Ended up with a formation like this 4222 at points during the game. Particularly first half against WBA.

Hojbjerg Sissoko
Ndombele kane
Son bale

My only concern is that there are questions over whether the test will come back positive over the first days you’ve contracted the virus. I would say they would be showing symptoms by now usually but athletes at this level are usually asymptomatic. I would say we are probably safe though since it’s been almost a week.

We will know if players start disappearing from their international squads. Apparently Ireland have one player that is self isolating, no word on if it’s Doherty yet. . .
