Ex-Spurs Player Joe Rodon

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Really wasn't a decent performance at all...

He had 3 big chances created.... for the opposition. On a different day, Chelsea would have scored 3 goals just off of Rodon's mistakes and we would have been fuming.

If this was a "decent" performance, I'd like to know what a poor performance is.

I'm not saying he can't be a good player, but he absolutely had a dreadful performance.
Oh look, a new Ndombele fanboy that doesn't have a clue. Weird.

I thought two mistakes aside - which luckily didn't cost us - he did well. Very difficult game to be thrown into but I think he showed quality, on and off the ball. Enough to make me think he'll be a good CB for us, but I'll wait until I see him in a run of games before getting excited.

I was a bit nervous after his first few touches but he settled well. Monster of a game for him start to in. His positioning was good and he was great in the air. He is a tough lad as well. A lot to work on, but I can see him getting very good quite quickly.

This situation of mistakes on a debut reminds me of Juan Foyth, when against Wolves he was culpable for two penalties, though I think one of them was more on Trippier than him, tbh. Loads of fans were unhappy at his performance though you could see he had quality on the ball. The difference in my view - apart from the obvious point Rodon's mistakes didn't cost us - is Foyth lacked presence and didn't really have the fundamentals off the ball (where to stand) whereas Rodon does have presence and his positioning overall was impressive. I predict he will settle in and be quite good.

Dont disagree but he would cost 60m. We aint spending that.
Agreed. I guess the other option may be Sabitzer, he's a bit older, and seems very keen to join Spurs. I'd expect him to score about the same or slightly better rate as Moura but with massively more technical ability on and off the ball.

He's also really versatile, could solve both our CM and RW issue. He's also their captain and apparently a good leader. Also, Leipzig may drop to EL by then.

If that fails we should go for Anguissa. He seems like a good mix of Dembele and Sissoko, he's carrying Fulham hard right now.

If we're still within reach by Jan, we simply have to commit and give it a real go, even if we pay slightly over the odds. Sell Sanchez, Winks, loan out Clarke, Cirkin etc, do whatever we can to scournge together the funds.
